Used 2022 Kia Forte for Sale nearLongueuil, QC

How much does the 2022 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 12.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 400 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated car with an expert rating of 7.83/10. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

The 2022 Forte is aimed at compact-sedan shoppers who want a lot of modern equipment for the money, and the updated styling and infotainment help it feel current. It is also described as spacious, which makes it a practical fit if you want a small car that still works well for everyday use.

The main trade-offs are that the base engine is underwhelming and the car can be noisy. Those drawbacks matter most if you want relaxed highway refinement or stronger acceleration.

With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Forte’s appeal is built around value, modern equipment, and a five-year/100,000-kilometre warranty with roadside assistance. Kia also backs it with a five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk.

The performance side is more mixed: most trims use a modest 2.0-litre four-cylinder, while the GT Limited gets the stronger turbocharged 1.6-litre setup. That means the car’s long-term ownership story is less about mechanical drama and more about whether you’re satisfied with the standard powertrain and the way the car is used day to day.

For used buyers, the biggest risk is choosing a trim that feels too basic or too compromised for your needs, especially if you expect quiet, effortless commuting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Forte?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the bare-bones version and comes with no standard safety technology, while higher trims add more equipment and brighter LED headlights on EX+ and up. The GT-Line adds a sportier look without sporty driving characteristics, and the GT Limited brings the most distinctive styling and the most fun character.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The LX gets a six-speed manual standard, while a CVT is optional on LX and standard elsewhere. The GT Limited uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
• Safety package: The rest of the trim levels include forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver monitoring system. Depending on trim, you can also get adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: If you want wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you need the EX Premium trim or lower with the 8-inch touchscreen. GT-Line and GT Limited use a 10.25-inch touchscreen, but CarPlay and Android Auto are wired there. The larger screen also adds SiriusXM, voice recognition, and Kia Connect connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-litre engine is rated at 7.6 L/100 km with the manual transmission and 7.0 L/100 km with the CVT. The LX is also noted as capable of as low as 5.9 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2022 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Forte is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, EX, EX+, EX Premium, GT-Line, and GT Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the cheapest way into the Forte, but it is also the most stripped-down. It makes sense only if your priority is the lowest possible purchase price and you’re comfortable adding your own expectations around equipment.
• EX: This is the sensible value pick if you want a better-equipped Forte without moving too far up the price ladder. It sits in the middle of the range and should suit most shoppers who want a balanced daily driver.
• EX+: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest mix of equipment and everyday usability. It adds the brighter LED headlights and keeps the car focused on value rather than flash.
• EX Premium: This is the trim to target if wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto matter to you. It gives you the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration, which is a major convenience advantage.
• GT-Line: Choose this if you want the sportier look without paying for the full performance-oriented model. It adds visual flair, but not sporty driving characteristics.
• GT Limited: This is the one to buy if you want the most power, the most distinctive features, and the most engaging driving experience. It is the favourite version in the test data, but it also comes with the biggest compromises in brakes, noise, and fuel economy.

The safety package starts with the higher trims, while the LX is the only version without standard safety technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Forte?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 400 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,337 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $18,337 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,913 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market is giving buyers more leverage than it was a year ago. If you’re planning to sell later, you may need to be realistic about how much value the car can hold if the broader compact-sedan market stays competitive.

The Forte’s strong equipment list helps support demand, especially for shoppers who want value and space in a compact sedan. Trim choice will matter, though: better-equipped versions are likely to be easier to position than a very basic example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte safe?

The 2022 Forte earns a four-star overall crash protection rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS gives its crashworthiness and driving assist systems high marks.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite on most trims includes forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver monitoring system. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is that the LX has no standard safety technology, and the NHTSA result is not especially strong. The IIHS testing is also incomplete because revised LED headlights have not yet been fully assessed.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings sharper styling plus updated infotainment, driver assist, and collision avoidance systems.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,406 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,337 CAD average.
• It offers strong value without feeling stripped down.

The bottom line: If you want the better buy today, the 2022 is the smarter starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is decent. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2023 is the cleaner alternative for shoppers who want a slightly fresher path into the Forte nameplate.
