Used 2022 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearLongueuil, QC

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 12.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 618 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.57/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its excellent value, fuel efficiency, safety features, and stylish design. That lines up well with the Elantra’s use case as a value-focused compact sedan that gives you a roomy cabin and a lot of equipment for the money. The main trade-offs are an underwhelming base engine, uncomfortable seats, and a noisy demeanour.

With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in day-to-day use, with praise for its fuel efficiency, safety features, and overall value. The expert assessment reinforces that impression by highlighting top-notch product quality and an industry-leading warranty. On the cost side, the five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty, including powertrain coverage, adds welcome peace of mind for used buyers.

For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether you can live with the base engine, seat comfort, and cabin noise.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential is the value play, but it leaves some driver-assistance features optional and does not include blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert or Safe Exit Warning. Higher trims add more standard equipment and are better suited if you want a more complete safety and convenience package.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque on Essential, Preferred, and Ultimate trims, plus a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with 201 hp and 195 lb-ft in the N Line. The standard engine is adequate, but it can feel short on power under hard acceleration.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assist suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assistance, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on Essential, but it is standard on other grades.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, HD Radio, Bluetooth, four speakers, and dual USB ports. Ultimate and N Line trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless device charging, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system, but CarPlay and Android Auto are wired only with that larger screen.
• Fuel efficiency: Combined fuel consumption ranges from 6.7 L/100 km for the 2.0-litre engine to 7.6 L/100 km for the N Line, while the hybrid uses 4.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Ultimate, and N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the best-value starting point if you want the lowest entry price and strong standard tech, including wireless smartphone integration and a full set of core safety features. It makes the most sense if you care more about value than luxury touches.
• Preferred: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of price and equipment, since it adds more speakers, satellite radio, and connected services while staying below the higher-priced trims. For many shoppers, this is the sweet spot.
• Ultimate: Choose this if you want the more upscale tech experience, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and Bose audio. It suits you if you want the most polished mainstream version.
• N Line: Pick this if you want the sportiest version, with the turbocharged engine, seven-speed DCT, sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, and a more aggressive look and feel. It is the right choice if driving enjoyment matters more than comfort.

The safety package is largely optional on Essential and standard on the other trims, so that’s an important difference to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 618 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,819 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $18,819 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,589 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If prices remain under pressure, resale values may not rebound quickly unless demand strengthens or supply tightens. The Elantra’s strong value reputation should help support interest, but buyers will still compare it closely against other compact sedans.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns five-star overall crash protection from NHTSA, with four-star front crash protection and five-star side crash protection and rollover resistance. It also earns top Good ratings in all six IIHS crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assistance, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on Essential, but it is standard on other trims, along with Safe Exit Warning. Higher trims can also add intersection turn assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist.

One caveat to note is that lower-level trims with halogen headlights received a Marginal IIHS headlight rating, while trims with LED headlights were rated Good.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong value, standard safety tech, and a roomy cabin at a bargain price.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,742 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,819 CAD average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with style, sophistication, space, and sportiness.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,018 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,819 CAD average.
• It offers multiple personalities, from efficient hybrid to budget-friendly sport sedan.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-round pick if you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and equipment without stretching your budget. If price is your top priority, the 2021 is the cheaper route; if you want more variety in powertrain and personality, the 2023 is worth the extra money.
