Is the 2022 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Palisade earns a 4.59/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Palisade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Preferred is well equipped, but it misses some of the higher-end touches found on the Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy. The Ultimate Calligraphy adds the most premium feel, including LED taillights, a head-up display, surround-view monitoring, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.8-litre V6 with direct gasoline injection and an eight-speed automatic transmission, paired with standard all-wheel drive in Canada. It delivers strong power, but fuel economy is only middling for the class.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-following assist, safe exit assist, and trailer sway control. Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy add forward-looking parking sensors, and Ultimate Calligraphy adds Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 1920 x 720 colour touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, HD Radio, and satellite radio. Blue Link connected services are standard on Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy, and the Ultimate Calligraphy adds a Qi wireless charging pad and head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates consumption at 12.3 L/100 km in the city, 9.6 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Urban, Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Palisade’s core strengths without stretching to the pricier trims. It already gives you standard all-wheel drive, strong safety equipment, and the roomy three-row layout that defines the model.
• Urban: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more convenience and tech. It adds features such as Blue Link connected services, surround-view monitoring, and forward-looking parking sensors, making it a smart middle ground.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning pick. It adds the most premium equipment, including the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, Qi wireless charging, a 115-volt outlet, and Highway Driving Assist.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with the most advanced driver-assistance features reserved for the upper trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Palisade?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 308 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,507 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $32,745 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,656 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Palisade more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale values to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim level.

Because the model still has strong family appeal and a premium image, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less desirable three-row SUVs. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.59/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Palisade safe?

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.59/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard all-wheel drive with a strong safety package and a polished, family-friendly cabin.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,431 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $32,745 CAD average.
• It adds more standard equipment and a new luxury-themed trim.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $39,956 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $32,745 CAD average.
• It brings a facelift plus more standard and optional tech and safety features.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want the Palisade’s strong safety, roomy cabin, and upscale feel at a softer price than newer examples. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the latest updates, the 2023 is the step up to consider.
