Used 2022 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 11.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 667 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent value, fuel efficiency, and safety features, along with its stylish design and strong warranty coverage. That lines up well with the car’s value-focused mission: it’s meant for you if you want a well-equipped compact sedan without paying a premium.

The main trade-offs are an underwhelming base engine and some cabin comfort complaints, including uncomfortable seats and noticeable noise. Even so, the Elantra’s roomy cabin and bargain pricing make it a strong fit if you prioritise efficiency, safety, and affordability over outright performance.

Only 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the car’s strong value, impressive warranty, and trouble-free-feeling feature set. The review summary also reinforces that it’s a model people feel good about counting on for everyday use.

From an ownership standpoint, the Elantra’s warranty coverage and value-oriented positioning support confidence over the long term. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the car’s core dependability and more about choosing the right trim and condition for your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential trim is the most basic version, and it leaves some driver-assistance features optional rather than standard. Higher trims add more safety and convenience equipment, while the N Line brings sportier styling and hardware, but its seats may be less comfortable for long trips.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder makes 147 horsepower and is adequate for daily driving, but it can feel short on power when you accelerate hard. The N Line’s turbocharged 1.6-litre engine is the enthusiast choice, while the Hybrid is the efficiency play.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s driver-assistance suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assistance, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on Essential, but it is standard on other grades.
• Infotainment: Base models get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, HD Radio, and dual USB ports. Higher trims add a 10.25-inch screen with navigation, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and Bose audio, but the larger screen uses wired smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: Combined fuel consumption ranges from 6.7 L/100 km for the 2.0-litre engine to 7.6 L/100 km for the N Line. The Hybrid is rated at 4.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Ultimate, and N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the value-first choice if you want the lowest entry point and still want wireless smartphone connectivity, a rearview camera, and a strong safety foundation. It makes the most sense if you’re focused on affordability and can live without some of the extra convenience and driver-assistance features found higher up the range.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more speakers, satellite radio, and connected services while staying closer to the model’s bargain-price appeal. If you want a better-equipped daily driver without jumping too far in price, this is the trim to target.
• Ultimate: This trim is the right pick if you want the more premium tech experience, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and Bose audio. It suits you best if cabin tech matters more than keeping the purchase as lean as possible.
• N Line: This is the trim for you if you want the sportiest version in the standard gas lineup, with the turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, and a more aggressive look. It’s the most engaging choice, but the firmer, sportier seats may not be ideal if comfort is your top priority.

Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is not available on Essential, but it is standard on other grades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some confidence if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 667 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,583 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $18,686 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,182 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Elantra has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they price competitively. The softer market also means you may not recover as much as a seller as you might have a year ago, especially if your car is in a trim that doesn’t stand out on equipment or condition.

For resale, the strongest listings will be the ones that combine desirable equipment, clean history, and strong condition. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the model’s value, efficiency, and safety reputation remain appealing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns five-star overall crash protection from NHTSA, with four-star front crash protection and five-star side crash protection and rollover resistance. It also earns top Good ratings in all six IIHS crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assistance, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the Essential trim, and Safe Exit Warning is also included on higher grades.

Higher trims can add intersection turn assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist. One caveat to keep in mind is that lower-level trims with halogen headlights received a Marginal IIHS headlight rating, while LED-equipped versions were rated Good.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong safety, excellent fuel economy, and standout value in a bargain-priced compact sedan.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,484 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,686 CAD average.
• The redesigned model delivers style, space, and sophistication beyond what many compact-car buyers expect.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,747 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,686 CAD average.
• It broadens the lineup with a hybrid and performance-oriented options.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of price, safety, and equipment. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2021 is worth a look; if you want more choice in powertrains, the 2023 is the better path.
