How much does the 2022 Genesis G70 cost?

Is the 2022 Genesis G70 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, sleek design, outstanding performance, high-quality interior, and excellent sound system. That lines up well with the G70’s role as a compact luxury sport sedan that blends style, driving enjoyment, and cabin quality. It also appeals if you want a distinctive alternative to the usual luxury-sedan choices.

The market shows 32.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a strong-value example.

Is the 2022 Genesis G70 reliable?

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable and worth counting on, with repeated praise for comfort, quality, and overall satisfaction. Genesis also backs the G70 with five years of warranty protection, scheduled maintenance, and connected services, which helps reduce early ownership stress.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that a few owners mention poor mileage and the car’s sporty hardware can make upkeep more important than on a simpler sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis G70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.0T line starts with Select and moves up to Advanced and Prestige, while the 3.3T line offers Advanced, Sport, and Launch Edition. The base equipment is already strong, but higher trims add more luxury and convenience features. The Launch Edition was a special specification and is no longer available.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or a twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and the eight-speed automatic is the only transmission.
• Safety package: Every G70 includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat reminder, Safe Exit Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. A high-definition 360-degree camera system helps when parking.
• Infotainment: The updated system uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen, with navigation, satellite radio, over-the-air software updates, natural voice recognition, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. CarPlay and Android Auto require a wired connection, not wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.3T is rated at 11.5 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test loop returned 11.7 L/100 km.

Which 2022 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis G70 is offered in 6 trim levels: Select, Advanced, Prestige, Advanced, Sport, and Launch Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point for the 2.0T line, so it makes sense if you want the G70’s core luxury-sedan experience at the lowest price. It still benefits from the model’s strong standard safety and technology content.
• Advanced: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more equipment without pushing you into the highest-priced versions. If you want a balanced mix of features and value, this is the trim to focus on.
• Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale 2.0T experience and are willing to pay for extra comfort and convenience.
• Advanced: On the 3.3T side, this is the starting point for the V6 and is the trim to consider if performance matters most and you want to keep the price in check.
• Sport: This is the trim to buy if you want the strongest all-around package in the V6 lineup. It pairs the more powerful engine with the richer equipment mix that suits the G70’s luxury-sport character.
• Launch Edition: This special version was fully loaded, but it is no longer available, so it mainly matters if you come across one on the used market.

The standard Highway Driving Assist system is a key safety feature across the lineup, and it’s worth prioritizing if you do a lot of highway driving.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 73 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,066 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $31,459 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,835 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The G70’s strong value proposition and distinctive appeal should help it remain attractive to shoppers who want a luxury sport sedan with personality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2022 G70 earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but its headlights are rated Marginal, which prevents it from earning a Top Safety Pick rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every G70 comes with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat reminder, Safe Exit Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. The 360-degree camera system is also standard and helps with parking.

The main caveat is the Marginal headlight result, so if you drive often at night, that’s worth keeping in mind.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds refreshed styling, an improved infotainment system, and Highway Driving Assist.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,411 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $31,459 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged after the 2022 update.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the refreshed design and updated tech at a lower market price. If you’re shopping strictly on value, the 2022 is the smarter buy; if you want the same formula with no meaningful changes, the 2023 only makes sense when pricing is close.
