What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis G70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with 2.0T Select and moves up through 2.0T Advanced and 2.0T Prestige, while the 3.3T side includes Advanced, Sport, and Launch Edition. The Launch Edition was a special specification, and the closest current match is the 3.3T Sport. The base equipment is already strong, but higher trims add more luxury and performance-focused content.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or a twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, rear-wheel drive is not offered, and the eight-speed automatic is the only transmission.
• Safety package: Every G70 includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat reminder, Safe Exit Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. A high-definition 360-degree camera system helps when parking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen with quick response, natural voice recognition, over-the-air software updates, navigation, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. CarPlay and Android Auto require a wired connection, not wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.3T is rated at 11.5 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2022 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis G70 is offered in 6 trim levels: 2.0T Select, 2.0T Advanced, 2.0T Prestige, 3.3T Advanced, 3.3T Sport, and 3.3T Launch Edition.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0T Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core G70 experience with the standard luxury and safety equipment already in place. It makes sense if you want the most accessible way into the model and do not need the extra performance of the V6.
• 2.0T Advanced: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment without pushing you into the higher-priced V6 range. If you want a balanced mix of features and price, this is the trim to focus on.
• 2.0T Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the four-cylinder model and are willing to pay for the extra comfort and convenience content.
• 3.3T Advanced: This is the starting point for the V6 and suits you if performance matters more than keeping the price down. It gives you the stronger engine while staying below the more heavily equipped sport-oriented trims.
• 3.3T Sport: This is the closest match to the fully loaded test vehicle and the trim to target if you want the strongest blend of performance and equipment. It is the best fit for buyers who want the G70 at its most complete.
• 3.3T Launch Edition: This special trim was the showcase specification, but it is no longer available. If you find one used, it will appeal to you if you want exclusivity and the most distinctive presentation.

Every G70 includes the standard Highway Driving Assist system, and that makes the safety package a major part of the value story.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 74 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.87% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,049 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $31,612 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,575 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The current range also shows that well-priced examples can still hold meaningful value within the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2022 G70 earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but its headlights are rated Marginal, which keeps it from earning a Top Safety Pick rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis equips every G70 with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat reminder, Safe Exit Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and a high-definition 360-degree camera system. Highway Driving Assist is the standout feature, combining adaptive cruise control with lane-centring assist for easier long-distance driving.

The main caveat is the headlight result, so if you do a lot of night driving, that is worth keeping in mind.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a refreshed look, improved infotainment, and Highway Driving Assist.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,064 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $31,612 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the refreshed design, strong equipment, and better pricing. If you are price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter buy; if you want a newer model year with the same core formula, the 2023 is the simpler alternative.
