What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis G70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.0T line starts with Select and moves up to Advanced and Prestige, while the 3.3T line offers Advanced, Sport, and Launch Edition grades. The Launch Edition is no longer available, so the closest current match is the 3.3T Sport. The higher trims add more equipment and a more upscale feel, while the base setup is still well equipped.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or a twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, rear-wheel drive is not offered, and the eight-speed automatic is the only transmission.
• Safety package: Every G70 includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat reminder, Safe Exit Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. A high-definition 360-degree camera system helps when parking.
• Infotainment: The 10.25-inch touchscreen includes navigation, satellite radio, over-the-air software updates, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. CarPlay and Android Auto require a wired connection, not wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.3T is rated at 11.5 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2022 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis G70 is offered in 6 trim levels: Select, Advanced, Prestige, Advanced, Sport, Launch Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point for the 2.0T line, and it gives you the core G70 experience with standard all-wheel drive, the full safety suite, and the updated infotainment system. It makes sense if you want the most accessible way into the model without giving up the essentials.
• Advanced: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and should balance equipment and price well. It is a smart pick if you want more polish than the base trim without stretching to the top end.
• Prestige: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for extra comfort and convenience equipment. It suits buyers who care more about luxury touches than outright performance.
• Advanced: On the 3.3T side, this is the starting point for the V6 and gives you the stronger engine with the same standard all-wheel drive and safety equipment. It is the right choice if performance matters more than trim extras.
• Sport: This is the trim to target if you want the strongest blend of performance and equipment in the current lineup. It is the most compelling upgrade path for buyers who want the V6 experience without chasing the discontinued Launch Edition.
• Launch Edition: This special version was fully loaded and featured exclusive appearance details, but it is no longer available. If you find one, it will appeal to shoppers who want rarity and maximum equipment.

The standard safety package is generous across the lineup, so you do not need to move far up the range just to get the key driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis G70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price movement to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 76 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,041 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $31,253 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,832 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one, a clean history and strong presentation matter more when the market is already leaning downward. Well-equipped examples should still attract attention, especially given the model’s luxury positioning and strong owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2022 G70 earns high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but its headlights are rated Marginal, which keeps it from earning a Top Safety Pick rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every G70 comes with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat reminder, Safe Exit Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. A high-definition 360-degree camera system is also included to help with parking.

The main caveat is the headlight result, so if you drive often at night, that is worth keeping in mind when you shop.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings the refreshed styling, improved infotainment, and Highway Driving Assist.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,473 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $31,253 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged with the same core formula.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and the refreshed package without paying more for a carryover model. If you are price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter buy; if you want the newer model year on paper, the 2023 is the fallback, but it does not add much for the extra money.
