CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Ford Bronco
overall

Summary
With 58 currently listed for sale near North Vancouver, BC and an average price of $41,810 CAD, 20.7% of 2022 Ford Broncos for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Ford Bronco 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
100.0% of 2022 Bronco models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Bronco stands out because it delivers serious off-road ability without giving up everyday road manners. The test-drive summary says it is as off-road capable as the Jeep Wrangler but significantly better to drive on pavement, which makes it appealing to buyers who want a rugged SUV that is still more settled on the street. It also notes that the Bronco’s deep roster of models gives there’s one for almost any skill level and a wide range of budgets, so its appeal stretches from more casual buyers to those looking for a more specialised off-road machine.
Practicality is another part of its appeal. The listed strengths include multiple body styles and plenty of cargo space, while the owner summary reinforces the Bronco’s performance, off-road capability, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. At the same time, it is not without drawbacks: advanced safety features are not standard, safety scores are middling, and some owners feel it is overpriced with too many essential features left optional. Even so, the overall impression is of a highly desirable SUV whose capability and versatility are the main reasons it draws so much attention.

This vehicle is significantly over priced for the options and extras. Buy a different Bronco and do the upgrades yourself.

Definitely over priced!! Kind of generic plastic inside. The 4 cylinder turbo is under powered- definitely find a v6 turbo. Rides smoothly. Very weak sound system .. don’t know how Bang and Olufsem sounds. Manual seats are pretty annoying. Hard top was $5k n totally plastic. It’s cool to own a Bronco but for the money , you should get a loaded Wrangler. It is way better priced and way better options - but …. They are 20 to 1 on the road wranglers to Broncos

I’ve owned two Jeep Wranglers and the Bronco puts them to shame. Excellent ride, steering, suspension and handling. The vehicle is comfortable, roomy and a much better vehicle for daily driving versus the Wrangler. The soft top is quick and simple to lower and appears to be of good quality and the visibility is excellent through all windows thanks to the frameless doors that are a breeze to remove. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned!

| Year-Round High | $46,455 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $46,395 CAD |

Prices have softened 10.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 343 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 4.5/5, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its performance, off-road capability, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. That lines up with the Bronco’s use case as a rugged SUV that still works well for everyday driving, especially if you want something more settled on pavement than a Wrangler-style rival.
The main trade-offs are that some buyers feel it is overpriced and that too many essential features are optional. Even so, the market still shows 29.2% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to shoppers in this segment: it is praised for being trouble-free in spirit, with strong confidence around its performance, off-road capability, comfort, tech, and spaciousness. The expert drive notes also support that impression by describing the Bronco as a vehicle that can truly do everything well, with no false alarms or glitches from its available systems.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is not obvious mechanical fragility so much as the possibility of paying for optional equipment and trim content that you may wish had been standard.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Bronco’s lineup ranges from more basic versions to highly specialised off-road models, and the feature gap at the lower end is important because advanced safety equipment is not standard on the base trim. You should pay close attention to which convenience and safety packages are included.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder and an optional turbocharged 2.7-litre V6. The four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual in two-door form, while the V6 and all four-door models use a 10-speed automatic.
- Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. Front parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and evasive steering assist are also available through higher packages, but not all are standard.
- Infotainment: You get Sync 4 with quick responses and sharp graphics, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The trail camera and off-road apps are especially useful if you plan to use the Bronco as intended.
- Fuel efficiency: The base two-door with the four-cylinder and automatic transmission is rated at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 11.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.7 L/100 km combined. The V6 ranges between 12.4 and 15.3 L/100 km combined, depending on version.
Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?
The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 6 trim levels: Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and Everglades.
Here's the short version:
- Big Bend: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco experience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It makes the most sense if you value the core design and capability and plan to add packages selectively.
- Black Diamond: This trim is the better pick if you want a more trail-ready setup than the base model and expect to use the Bronco off pavement more often.
- Outer Banks: Choose this if you want a more polished, everyday-friendly Bronco with a stronger emphasis on comfort and street use.
- Badlands: This is the best-value choice for buyers who want serious off-road hardware without going all the way to the most expensive trims.
- Wildtrak: Pick this if you want a more highly equipped, more capable Bronco and are willing to pay for it.
- Everglades: This is the specialist choice for buyers who want the most distinctive off-road focus, including swamp and deep-water hardware.
The safety-package note to keep in mind is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on the base trim, so package content matters a lot.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.
- Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 343 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.28% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $41,416 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?
The current average of $41,623 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,395 CAD.
That price movement suggests the Bronco has become more accessible to used buyers, which can help demand stay healthy if you decide to sell later. A softer market today may mean less upside than in a hotter year, but it can also broaden the pool of shoppers who can afford your vehicle. Strong desirability, especially for well-equipped trims and clean examples, should still support interest over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?
The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good scores from the IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable for head restraints and seats. It also earns four-star ratings for frontal crash protection in the four-door and three-star ratings for rollover protection in both the two- and four-door versions.
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, trailer sway control, dual-stage front and side airbags for the front row, side-curtain airbags for both rows, and a rollover sensor. A blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, front parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and evasive steering assist are available through higher packages rather than being standard across the lineup.
The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to verify package content carefully when shopping used.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.28% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 stands out for its broad model range and strong on-road manners alongside serious off-road ability.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $50,237 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,623 CAD average.
- It adds a broader choice of two- and four-door models across nine distinct versions.
The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2022 is the smarter starting point because prices have eased and inventory is available. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year with a wider model spread, the 2023 is the alternative to compare.
