Used 2022 Dodge Charger for Sale near Alberta

How much does the 2022 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices have softened 15.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 164 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Dodge Charger earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, spacious interior, and enjoyable handling. The Charger also stands out for its easy-to-use technology, and the Widebody setup gets particular credit for making the car more capable in corners.

The trade-offs are familiar: the interior feels dated, and some buyers may find the cabin quality and comfort less convincing than the price suggests. In practical terms, it suits you best if you want a large performance sedan with real personality rather than a polished efficiency play.

Only 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as powerful, enjoyable to handle, and dependable enough to inspire confidence over time. The user feedback also points to strong long-term appeal for buyers who value a car they can count on for performance and everyday use.

The Charger’s straightforward mechanical layout and proven powertrain approach support that reputation for durability. For used buyers, the bigger ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about how previous use, maintenance, and wear may have affected a performance-focused car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes with a V6, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, cloth upholstery, a six-speaker stereo, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT adds a rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, an Alpine premium stereo, navigation, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The R/T is the most affordable V8 model, while the Scat Pack 392 adds a larger V8, launch control, a high-performance suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, Brembo brakes, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Hellcat and higher trims add supercharged power, upgraded brakes, and more luxury equipment.
• Powertrain: The V6 makes 292 horsepower in base form, with 300 hp in SXT AWD and GT trims. Higher trims move to V8 power, including the 5.7-litre Hemi, the 6.4-litre Hemi, and the supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak models. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while the V6-powered SXT and GT are also available with all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: The Charger offers only a backup camera and rear parking sensors as standard equipment. Available driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Those features are not standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, with an optional 8.4-inch version on the base SXT and standard fitment on the rest of the lineup. Both systems include Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration returns 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres in city driving, 7.8 on the highway, and 10.3 combined. The SXT or GT with AWD returns 12.8 L/100 km city, 8.7 highway, and 11.0 combined. The R/T returns 14.7 L/100 km city, 9.4 highway, and 12.3 combined. The Scat Pack 392 returns 15.8 L/100 km city, 9.6 highway, and 13.0 combined. The Redeye and Jailbreak return 19.0 L/100 km city, 11.5 highway, and 15.6 combined.

Which 2022 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2022 Dodge Charger is offered in 7 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack 392, Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core character with the standard V6, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear parking sensors, and power-adjustable front seats. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the lineup.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds sportier hardware and a more upscale tech setup without jumping to V8 pricing. You get the rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, Alpine audio, navigation, and the larger 8.4-inch screen.
• R/T: This is the first V8 trim, so it’s the right choice if you want the traditional muscle-car feel without moving into the high-cost performance models. It keeps much of the GT’s equipment while adding the V8 experience.
• Scat Pack 392: This is the sweet spot if you want serious performance. It adds the larger V8, launch control, high-performance suspension, limited-slip rear differential, Brembo brakes, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
• Hellcat: This is for you if outright acceleration is the priority. It adds supercharged power, upgraded brakes, and the more premium equipment that comes with the higher-performance variants.
• Redeye: Choose this if you want even more power than the Hellcat and are willing to pay for it.
• Jailbreak: This is the most extreme version, with the hottest tune in the lineup and the most exclusive positioning.

The safety package is limited on lower trims, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, check carefully for the options fitted to the specific car you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers: there’s enough inventory to shop around, but the best-priced examples still move quickly.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,491 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $37,523 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,443 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure if the trend continues. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower average cost than owners saw a year ago, which can help soften depreciation risk from this point forward.

The Charger’s strong enthusiast appeal should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable trims. Even so, resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how much performance equipment the car has.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger safe?

The Charger sees middling performance in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, scoring a Marginal rating in the driver’s side overlap test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the Charger a five-star overall safety rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Charger’s standard safety equipment is limited to a backup camera and rear parking sensors, and that backup camera is described as grainy and pixelated. Available driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The main caveat is that the Charger’s safety tech is sparse by modern standards, so you should pay close attention to which optional features are actually fitted on the used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines old-school muscle-car character with strong performance and a wide trim range.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,738 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,523 CAD average.
• It offers budget-friendly muscle-car appeal with spacious, practical accommodations.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $43,598 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,523 CAD average.
• It adds final-year send-off appeal with a more occasion-driven personality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, performance, and availability, the 2022 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want the final-year cachet, the 2023 is the one to chase.
