Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and it fits a heavy-duty pickup that is built around serious capability rather than everyday softness. The Silverado 3500HD’s core appeal is its major towing and payload numbers, plus its work-focused hardware and technology. It also offers a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio, which helps round out its utility. 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Silverado 3500HD is built around serious capability, with major towing and payload numbers, a choice of strong V8 powertrains, and work-friendly equipment that suits demanding use. Its main drawbacks are that the cabin can feel too basic compared with rivals, and the diesel versions are more expensive. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about choosing the right configuration and condition than worrying about the truck’s core purpose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 93 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $63,946 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $65,142 CAD sits slightly above last year's $64,682 CAD.

That kind of pricing stability suggests the Silverado 3500HD is holding its value reasonably well in the used market. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign because it points to steady buyer interest rather than sharp depreciation. The truck’s capability-focused reputation also helps support demand among shoppers who need serious towing and payload capacity.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability, stable pricing, and a solid satisfaction signal, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2022 remains a sensible choice when you want a balanced mix of availability and market stability.
