Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and useful features such as the backup camera and electronic mirrors. It also fits well if you want a heavy-duty truck that still feels well equipped for everyday use, especially given its modern cabin and broad capability. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights a dependable, trouble-free feel, with praise centred on its strong performance and the confidence it gives drivers over time. That kind of response suggests you can count on it for heavy-duty use if it has been maintained properly.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a truck that has already seen hard work, so condition and service history matter a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,281 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $58,336 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,975 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a plus if you're buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If you own one for a few years, the truck's current pricing trend suggests you should expect resale value to depend heavily on mileage, condition, and trim. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help, but the market is still giving buyers some leverage today.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want a heavy-duty Silverado 2500HD with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you're especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 stands out as a balanced choice when you want capability and a well-liked ownership experience.
