CarGurus Analysis: 2022 RAM 2500
Summary
With 50 currently listed for sale near London, ON and an average price of $56,329 CAD, 30.0% of 2022 RAM 2500s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2022 RAM 2500 stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that leans hard into luxury and technology without giving up its work-truck roots. In the fifth generation, Ram adopted a lot of the changes from the Ram 1500, ditched the crosshair grille, and added LED lighting and a more aerodynamic design. It also gained a stronger frame, a new suspension system, and a new transmission, helping it tow more than 15,875 kilograms and handle almost 3,600 kilograms of payload. The RamBox also includes a 115-volt outlet with up to 400 watts of power, which adds a practical touch for job sites or camping.
Inside, the 2022 RAM 2500 benefits from a major upgrade in materials and available luxury amenities, along with a revised instrument cluster, a rotary gear selector, and a standard trailer brake controller. Available features include a 360-degree camera, a 12-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon 750-watt, 17-speaker audio system. It also offers a healthy range of cab and bed configurations, and in Canada the trim walk includes everything from work-focused versions to upscale models. For buyers, that mix of capability and comfort is the main appeal: it can do serious towing and hauling while still feeling well equipped for everyday use.
There are a few trade-offs. The column shifter feels flimsy, it can be difficult to enter and exit, and the turbodiesel engine is expensive. Owner feedback also points to strong power, a comfortable ride, and good interior features, while noting that price and engine or exhaust noise can be concerns.

Great power and rides very smooth. Diesel is surprisingly very quiet. Cabin insulation is great; very little road noise. My Big Horn didn't come with power seats, which was odd. Other than the minor inconvenience, the truck is everything I expected.

This truck has everything I was looking for. Color, cold weather package and low mileage. It was a little more than I really wanted to spend but when you’re shopping for used and you find one that checks all the boxes you have to jump. Black wheels is really the only upgrade or feature i would’ve liked. I wouldn’t compare it to another model because it’s exactly what I wanted.

Reviewed a 2022 RAM Power Wagon Crew Cab 4WD on Oct 2, 2024
The truck has good features but it is missing the stock Power Wagon wheels, this package is meant to have the PW wheels. Not those tradesman wheels and tires. Seems like someone had aftermarket wheel and tires, before trading in the vehicle they got a set of tradesman put on and the dealer either didnt notice. Or it was an arranged agreement for the previous owner to remove their aftermarket wheel and tire set up.

The features were what I was looking for. The only thing missing was retractable running boards. The running boards that were on this model were quite nice, so I am happy with. Price was fair. Very nice truck.

How much does the 2022 RAM 2500 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $56,556 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $56,254 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $64,492 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $64,489 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −12.30% |
Prices have softened 12.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 309 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2022 RAM 2500 a good car?
Yes — the 2022 RAM 2500 earns a 4.81/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfortable ride, and excellent interior features, and many also value its towing capability and overall utility. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle work duties while still feeling comfortable for everyday use. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 RAM 2500 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.81/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependability, and a truck that many drivers feel they can count on for work or leisure. That kind of response suggests the 2022 RAM 2500 has the staying power used buyers want in a heavy-duty pickup. For long-term ownership, your main risk is paying close attention to condition and maintenance history, especially on higher-use trucks.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 2500?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.
- Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 309 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.30% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $56,254 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 RAM 2500's resale value?
The current average of $56,556 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,489 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong demand for well-kept heavy-duty trucks can still support resale, especially when the truck has a good reputation with owners.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.81/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.30% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.81/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $69,189 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $56,556 CAD average.
- It adds a more off-road-focused, purpose-built Rebel and Power Wagon character.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and a strong owner satisfaction record. If you are price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter path; if you want the newer-year premium and a more specialised off-road angle, consider the 2023 instead.
