Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a truck that owners are very happy with. Drivers consistently praise its performance, especially the Duramax Diesel engine, and they also highlight its dependable, capable nature for towing and hauling. The overview also points to a strong fit if you want serious capability with a more modern, better-equipped cabin and useful technology for work or everyday use. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback repeatedly describes it as dependable and capable, with owners especially confident in its towing and hauling ability. That kind of praise matters if you want a used heavy-duty truck you can count on for demanding work. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about owner satisfaction and more about finding a well-maintained example that has been used responsibly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 60 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,385 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $37,535 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,554 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, you’re entering at a lower cost basis than someone who bought a year ago, which can help soften depreciation pressure later. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can still support resale, especially when the truck has the kind of owner satisfaction this one does.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a lower average price than a year ago, and enough inventory to compare options, the 2019 is a sensible primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep an eye out for listings near the low end of the range and be ready to move quickly when a well-priced truck appears.
