What is the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $21,346 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,301 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tiguan has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future buyers feel more comfortable shopping used. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your own resale loss later. The current market also shows that demand remains broad enough to support steady interest from shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,308 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,346 CAD average.
• It adds updated safety tech and a light refresh.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping the used market carefully. If you want newer safety technology and are willing to pay more, the 2022 is the stronger upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2021 is the more compelling buy as long as you find a well-kept example.
