This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 470 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.27% compared with last year.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $17,331 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,949 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tiguan has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Because the market already reflects a softer trend, well-kept examples should be easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the Tiguan’s roomy cabin, seven-seat flexibility, and softer pricing in today’s market. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2019 stands out as a balanced choice when value and practicality matter most.
