How much does the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

There are 472 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice when comparing condition, mileage, and trim.

Is the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 4.73/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value for money, spacious interior, and luxurious features, while many also like the comfortable ride and handling. In practical terms, that makes it a good fit if you want a compact SUV that feels more refined and versatile than basic transportation. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on comfort, value, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience. At the same time, some drivers mention the engine could be more powerful, and the broader model-year reputation includes concerns around engine and electrical issues as well as infotainment glitches. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth managing with a careful inspection and a thorough test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 472 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,917 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $15,927 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,287 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk later because much of the recent softening is already reflected in today’s market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a compact SUV with a more spacious, upscale feel and you value owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the stronger pick. If your priority is finding the lowest entry price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 offers a compelling balance of value, comfort, and market softness for price-conscious buyers.
