What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LE and XLE models use a cleaner grille, while SE and XSE trims add more visual clutter with fake vents. The base LE also comes with 16-inch steel wheels, so you may want to step up if you care about appearance.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, a 3.5-litre V6, or a hybrid setup. The four-cylinder is the most common choice, while the V6 and hybrid are only available with front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on XLE and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Higher trims can add a 9-inch screen, navigation, SiriusXM, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system, while XSE and XLE can also get a 10-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder LE and SE are rated at 7.4 L/100 km combined with front-wheel drive and 8.2 L/100 km combined with all-wheel drive. The V6 is rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the hybrid is rated at 4.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XSE, XLE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the most affordable path into the Camry, and it gives you the core safety and infotainment equipment without paying for extras you may not need. It makes the most sense if value matters most.
• SE: This trim adds a sportier look and sits near the middle of the range, making it a strong choice if you want a little more style without moving too far up the price ladder.
• XSE: This is the better pick if you want more upscale equipment, including available leather upholstery, a 9-inch touchscreen, and the available head-up display.
• XLE: Choose this if you want the most comfort-oriented Camry, along with standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on XLE and XSE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 97 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,729 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $24,061 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,105 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If you own one, strong condition and desirable equipment should matter more when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
