Toyota also backs the Camry with a three-year, 60,000 km basic warranty and a five-year, 100,000 km powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about choosing a trim that matches your expectations for features and refinement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE and XLE use a cleaner grille, while the SE and XSE add more aggressive styling but also more visual clutter from fake vents. The base LE rides on 16-inch steel wheels, while other models move to alloy wheels. If you want the best-value balance of equipment and price, the mid-range trims are worth a close look.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, a 3.5-litre V6, or a hybrid setup. The four-cylinder is the most common choice, the V6 brings much stronger output, and the hybrid is the efficiency leader. AWD is available with the four-cylinder, while the V6 and hybrid are FWD only.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the XLE and XSE, and optional on the LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Higher trims can add a 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, SiriusXM, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system. A 10-inch head-up display is available on the XSE and XLE.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder LE and SE are rated at 7.4 L/100 km combined with FWD and 8.2 L/100 km combined with AWD. The V6 is rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined in XLE form, while the hybrid posts the lowest combined figure at 4.9 L/100 km.

Which 2021 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the most affordable path into the Camry and gives you the core safety tech, CarPlay, Android Auto, and the efficient four-cylinder setup. It makes the most sense if you want the Camry’s fundamentals without paying for extras.
• SE: This trim adds a sportier look and sits near the middle of the lineup, making it a strong value choice if you want a little more style without jumping to the pricier trims.
• XLE: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel, with leather upholstery and available premium tech features. It also gets standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• XSE: This is the most feature-rich choice for shoppers who want the sportiest appearance and the most available equipment, including the larger display and head-up display options.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the XLE and XSE, and optional on the LE and SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 114 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,733 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $23,845 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,121 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive point, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the car quickly. Strong demand for well-equipped, well-kept examples should still help the best listings hold their value better than average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.65/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2021 Toyota Camry earned a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the highest five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with five-star ratings in front, side, and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Toyota also adds Rear Seat Reminder as standard on all trim levels.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the XLE and XSE, and optional on the LE and SE. That means lower trims still get a strong safety base, but you may want to step up if those extra driver aids matter to you.

Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.65/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 adds updated infotainment displays and Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,967 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $23,845 CAD average.
• It adds AWD and the TRD package for buyers wanting a sportier edge.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,262 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $23,845 CAD average.
• It appeals to buyers who want a roomy, reliable, efficient, safe, and affordable sedan.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and everyday usability. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2020 and 2022 are worth comparing, but the 2021’s softer pricing and updated safety tech make it the most balanced choice.
