How much does the 2021 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 4.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 87 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2021 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the WRX’s appeal comes through clearly in its practical sports-sedan layout, standard all-wheel drive, and everyday usability. It also stands out for combining enthusiast-friendly performance with useful features such as heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available driver-assistance and comfort upgrades. For you, that means a car that can work as a daily driver while still delivering the kind of traction and engagement many shoppers want in a sporty sedan. There are 31.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The WRX’s reliability story is tied to its established formula: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a chassis designed to balance performance with everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance-oriented car can be more sensitive to maintenance history and prior driving style, so a careful inspection matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 87 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.16% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,648 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $26,147 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,281 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the WRX’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. Its enthusiast appeal should help keep demand steady, especially among shoppers who want a manual-transmission performance sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,477 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,147 CAD average.
• It delivers rally-bred all-wheel-drive performance with a manual transmission.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,675 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,147 CAD average.
• It adds a more evolved powertrain and broader tech improvements.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want the current-year balance of price, satisfaction, and everyday usability. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the smarter secondary path; if you want the newer update and can stretch your budget, the 2022 is worth a look.
