Is the 2021 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a truck that owners feel good about living with, especially because of its dependable towing performance, heavy-load handling, and overall confidence on the job. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about day-to-day satisfaction and more about whether a specific truck has been used hard or maintained carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 211 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,480 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $58,537 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,307 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about where the market is headed. If prices stay near this level, resale values should remain supported by the truck’s strong reputation and heavy-duty capability. For you, that means a well-kept example should still hold buyer interest better than a truck with weaker owner feedback.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2021 if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval and a market that has eased a bit from last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, it can also make sense to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
