Is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on value, comfort, and everyday usability. That said, some drivers mention the engine can feel under-powered at times, so it is worth paying attention to how the vehicle drives in your own test. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well and still feels strong under load.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 387 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,376 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $23,376 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,431 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale a little more challenging if values continue to soften. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less room for depreciation pressure later. Strong demand for well-equipped, comfortable family SUVs can still help support interest when you eventually sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,183 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $23,376 CAD average.
• It offers strong value in a practical five-passenger package.

The bottom line: Choose the 2021 if you want the more versatile, better-equipped Santa Fe and can find a well-priced example. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value-focused alternative.
