How much does the 2021 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 7.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 905 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda Civic earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, great fuel economy, comfortable ride, spacious trunk, and enjoyable driving experience. The market also shows 29.1% of listings as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.

Is the 2021 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, fuel-efficient, and easy to live with over time. Honda does not include free maintenance or long warranty coverage here, so used buyers should still budget for normal upkeep and inspect service history carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The sedan comes in LX, EX, Sport, and Touring trims. Base trims use a 5-inch LCD screen, while the Touring gets the 7-inch high-definition touchscreen, a 10-speaker audio system, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and on-board navigation. If you want the most complete cabin, the Touring is the one to target.
• Powertrain: LX, EX, and Sport trims use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 158 horsepower and a CVT. The Touring uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder with 174 hp and more torque, which gives the car stronger passing power and a more satisfying drive.
• Safety package: Every Civic gets Honda Sensing, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a multi-angle rearview camera. LaneWatch is available starting with EX, but blind-spot warning is not a traditional radar-based system.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, text messaging support, and HondaLink connected services. The Touring adds the 7-inch high-definition touchscreen and navigation, but the system still feels dated compared with newer rivals.
• Fuel efficiency: The CVT helps fuel economy, and the expert test drive recorded 6.8 L/100 km on a mixed driving loop, beating the Natural Resources Canada estimate of 7.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2021 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Civic is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, EX, Sport, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the simplest way into the Civic sedan, and it gives you the core Civic experience without paying for extras you may not need. It suits you if value matters most and you are comfortable with the basic infotainment setup.
• EX: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds LaneWatch and keeps the Civic’s everyday strengths intact without jumping to the top trim. It is a smart middle ground if you want more convenience and safety tech.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a slightly more expressive version of the Civic with the same 2.0-litre powertrain. It is the trim to consider if appearance and a more engaging feel matter to you.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped Civic sedan, with the turbocharged engine, the larger touchscreen, premium audio, and navigation. Buy this if you want the strongest mix of performance and features.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, while LaneWatch starts with EX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent opportunities.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 905 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,328 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $21,328 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,048 CAD.

That softer pricing means future sellers may not see the same peak returns they would have a year ago. Even so, the Civic’s broad appeal, strong reputation, and steady demand should help it remain relatively easy to move in the used market. Its large listing volume also suggests there is ongoing buyer interest, which supports resale stability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Civic safe?

The 2021 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star ratings in every single assessment from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a multi-angle rearview camera. LaneWatch is available starting with EX, but it is not a full blind-spot warning system, and the car does not offer rear cross-traffic warning.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The outgoing 10th-generation Civic still offers three body styles and a proven formula.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,031 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $21,328 CAD average.
• It adds minor design tweaks plus more standard safety and convenience features.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,670 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,328 CAD average.
• It brings a full redesign with fresher engineering and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the proven outgoing Civic with strong owner satisfaction and better pricing than last year, the 2021 is the main target. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 offers a lower entry point, while the 2022 is the better pick if you want the redesigned model and can spend more.

How does the 2021 Honda Civic compare to the 2021 Toyota Corolla?

Our experts score the 2021 Honda Civic 7.2/10 and the 2021 Toyota Corolla 7.8/10. The Corolla edges ahead on expert score, but the Civic offers stronger used-market availability and a more powerful standard engine. You may prefer the Civic if you want more listings to choose from and a slightly more engaging ownership experience, while the Corolla looks better if you want the lower average used price.
