How much does the 2021 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 10.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,585 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Ford F-150 earns a 4.84/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, modern technology, and excellent ride comfort. They also value its versatility and the fuel efficiency of the smaller engines, which fits a truck that’s meant to work as a commuter, family hauler, road-trip vehicle, and work truck.

With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively if you want the right configuration.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.84/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its versatility and the ability to handle a wide range of needs. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by noting good road manners, impressive ride quality, and cabin noise levels that are better than you might expect in a pickup.

Ford’s warranty coverage includes a three-year, 60,000 km bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 100,000 km powertrain warranty, which helps support early ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-trim trucks can be expensive to keep up, especially if you want more advanced equipment.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford F-150?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL and next-step XLT are described as more spartan inside, while higher trims such as King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited bring a much more luxurious feel. If you want a more upscale cabin, the higher trims are the ones to target.
• Powertrain: You get a wide spread of engines, from the 3.3-litre V6 to the 5.0-litre V8, twin-turbo EcoBoost V6s, a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6, and the PowerBoost hybrid. The hybrid is the most powerful option, but the non-hybrid 3.5-litre EcoBoost is the one to choose if maximum towing matters most.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, hill-descent control, and intersection assist are available, though some require extra cost on certain trims.
• Infotainment: Sync 4 brings Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 12-inch screen is available on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The PowerBoost hybrid is rated at 9.3 L/100 km combined with rear-wheel drive and 9.8 L/100 km combined with four-wheel drive. The hybrid’s real-world efficiency advantage is modest, so it makes the most sense if you value the powertrain’s character as much as its fuel use.

Which 2021 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford F-150 is offered in 6 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the more basic interior.
• XLT: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want a more polished mix of comfort and equipment without going all the way to the luxury trims.
• King Ranch: This trim leans into upscale materials and a more premium feel, making it a strong pick if you want a nicer cabin and don’t mind paying more.
• Platinum: This is for buyers who want a more luxurious F-150 with a high-end presentation.
• Limited: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most premium version of the truck.

The safety package is built around Ford Co-Pilot360, with several driver-assistance features standard and others available depending on trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,585 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.65% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,020 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $37,105 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,526 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give buyers more leverage today, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the higher average from a year ago.

The truck’s broad appeal should help support demand over time, especially because it combines strong capability with modern tech and a wide range of configurations. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.84/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2021 Ford F-150 earns a good rating from IIHS for roof strength.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Ford Co-Pilot360 equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, hill-descent control, and intersection assist are available, though some features require extra cost on certain trims.

A key caveat is that full crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS were not yet available at launch, so the safety picture is not as complete as it is for some rivals.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.84/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings the redesigned cabin, Sync 4 infotainment, and the available PowerBoost hybrid powertrain.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $31,783 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $37,105 CAD average.
• It offers an accommodating, modern interior with comfortable road manners.

The bottom line: If you want the newer tech, broader powertrain story, and stronger market momentum, the 2021 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front and you still want a capable, comfortable full-size pickup, the 2020 is the value play.
