Used 2021 Ford F-150 for Sale near Alberta

How much does the 2021 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 10.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,569 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 4.84/5 user rating and 7.83/10 expert rating both point to a strong overall package. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, modern technology, and excellent ride comfort. They also value its versatility and the fuel efficiency of the smaller engines, which makes it a practical fit whether you want a commuter, family hauler, road-trip truck, or work truck.

The F-150’s broad configuration range and updated cabin help it serve a wide mix of buyers without losing its truck capability. With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.84/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with owners repeatedly highlighting its strong performance, modern technology, and versatility in everyday use. The same feedback also suggests it’s a vehicle many people feel confident living with over the long term.

The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the truck as capable and well-rounded, with good road manners and a broad range of powertrains. Ford’s warranty coverage is about average for the segment, so used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the truck was equipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford F-150?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is spartan, while higher trims such as King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited are much more luxurious. If you want a more upscale cabin, look for the trims with leather upholstery and wood trim.
• Powertrain: You get a wide range of engines, from a 3.3-litre V6 to a 5.0-litre V8, twin-turbo EcoBoost V6s, a Power Stroke diesel, and the PowerBoost hybrid. The hybrid is the most powerful option, but it is not the best choice if maximum towing is your priority.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, hill-descent control, and intersection assist are available, but some require extra cost on certain trims.
• Infotainment: Sync 4 brings Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 12-inch screen is available on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The PowerBoost hybrid is rated at 9.3 L/100 km combined with rear-wheel drive and 9.8 L/100 km combined with four-wheel drive. The hybrid’s real-world efficiency advantage is modest, so it’s worth weighing carefully against its added cost.

Which 2021 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford F-150 is offered in 6 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the most affordable entry point, but it is the most basic version of the truck. It makes sense if you want the F-150’s core capability and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without jumping too far up the price ladder. If you want a more balanced mix of comfort and equipment, this is the trim to focus on.
• Lariat: This is the better choice if you want a more polished cabin and more premium-feeling features. It suits buyers who use their truck daily and want a noticeable step up in refinement.
• King Ranch: This trim leans into luxury, with leather upholstery and wood trim that make the cabin feel much more upscale. It’s a strong pick if comfort and presentation matter as much as capability.
• Platinum: This is for buyers who want a high-end truck with a more premium look and feel throughout. It sits near the top of the range and is aimed at shoppers who want luxury without going all the way to the top trim.
• Limited: This is the most upscale version in the lineup and is best for buyers who want the most luxurious F-150 experience available.

Ford’s safety and driver-assistance features are standard under the Co-Pilot360 banner, while some additional aids remain optional depending on trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,569 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,977 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $36,977 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,477 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make it harder for sellers to command top dollar right away. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means you may need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out.

At the same time, the F-150’s broad appeal and strong reputation help support demand. Trucks with this kind of owner satisfaction tend to stay on shoppers’ shortlists, which can help preserve resale strength over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.84/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2021 Ford F-150 earns a good rating from IIHS roof-strength testing, and full crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS were not yet available when this truck launched.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams as standard equipment. Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, hill-descent control, and intersection assist are available, though some of those features cost extra on certain trims.

A key caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup, so you should check the exact trim and option package carefully before buying.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.84/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a redesigned cabin, Sync 4, and an available PowerBoost hybrid that make it feel more modern than the previous year.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $31,715 CAD, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $36,977 CAD average.
• It offers an accommodating, modern interior with comfortable road manners.

The bottom line: If you want the more modern truck with better tech and a broader feature set, the 2021 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money and you still want a capable, comfortable full-size pickup, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path.
