How much does the 2020 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 7.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.72/5, and our experts give it 8.33/10. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its power, smooth ride, and interior comfort, and many appreciate the engine performance, especially the 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L V8 options. The truck also stands out for its spaciousness and broad versatility, which fits its role as a commuter, family hauler, road-trip vehicle, and work truck.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the interior materials can feel cheap.

For you, that means the 2020 F-150 makes the most sense if you want a capable full-size pickup that can do daily duty without giving up towing and hauling ability. With 27.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to shop selectively.

Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on, especially when you value strong power and a smooth ride over flashier luxury touches. The expert assessment also highlights an accommodating, modern interior and a powertrain lineup built to handle worksite demands with confidence.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may show their age in cabin materials and feature content, so condition and trim choice matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford F-150?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,170 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $30,697 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $31,783 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,458 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition if inventory stays healthy. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand for versatile full-size pickups should still help support values, especially for well-equipped trims and desirable powertrains.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2020 Ford F-150 SuperCrew earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and top marks from IIHS in its various crash tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 brings automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Forward automatic emergency braking is standard, including on the XL, while a reverse sensing system is available on the base trim.

One important caveat is that the SuperCab and regular cab managed only four-star ratings from NHTSA, so cab choice matters if safety is a priority.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers broad trim and powertrain variety with strong towing capability.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $37,105 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $31,783 CAD average.
• It adds a redesigned interior and the new Sync 4 infotainment system.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better pick if you want a proven, well-rounded F-150 at a lower price with strong owner satisfaction and plenty of configurations to choose from. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2020 makes more sense; if you want the newer cabin and tech, the 2021 is the upgrade to consider.
