Love all its user friendly features. Wanted a vehicle that was easy to transport dogs in and the fold down configuration of seats in the touring model was perfect for me. But it’s also a surprising pleasure to drive and park. Who knew I’d be a mini van fan ; )

Electronics are terrible. Hard to figure out and go out often. Back tailgate opens when driver door is closed sometimes. CarPlay is unreliable. Chrysler tried to go high tech and in Chrysler style has failed.

Vehicle as a whole is fine. But good luck finding a used one that wasn’t a rental or that had been smoked in. Add Chrysler’s already questionable reliability to a former rental car and you are asking for trouble.

Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica a good car?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is a strong fit if you want a family-focused minivan that balances everyday usability with a more premium feel. It earns a 3.75/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating, and the model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.
The Pacifica’s appeal comes through in its revised styling, updated technology, and practical strengths, including abundant, well-designed storage space and an easy-to-drive character. Chrysler also gives you a choice between a traditional V6 engine and a hybrid powertrain, which broadens its usefulness depending on how you plan to drive.
With 26.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica reliable?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is presented as a well-rounded family vehicle with a strong emphasis on everyday usability, and its expert score reflects that confidence. The model’s revised styling and updated technology are paired with practical strengths that should make ownership straightforward for many families.
Its powertrain coverage includes a traditional 3.6-litre V6 with a nine-speed automatic, plus a hybrid setup with a dual-motor electrically variable transmission and a 16-kWh battery. The hybrid also posts 2.9 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres and 8.0 L/100 km combined, while the V6 returns 10.6 L/100 km combined, which gives you a clear efficiency spread to consider.
Chrysler also notes that the Pacifica’s sound deadening, fresh windows, seals, and insulation help keep road, engine, and surrounding-car noise far away, which supports a more settled ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing the wrong configuration for your needs, especially if you want all-wheel drive or hybrid efficiency but also expect the same packaging flexibility from every version.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chrysler Pacifica?
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Touring-L grade is where most safety features begin to appear, while the Pinnacle adds the most premium cabin treatment, including soft-touch materials, classy finishes, and upscale details that make it the most luxurious choice.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a traditional 3.6-litre V6 with a nine-speed automatic or a hybrid powertrain with a dual-motor electrically variable transmission and a 16-kWh battery. The hybrid is front-wheel drive only, while all-wheel drive is available on gasoline models.
- Safety package: Chrysler’s safety suite includes automatic pedestrian emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and forward collision warning with active braking. Adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, front parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and lane departure warning with lane keep assist are available in packages or standard on the Pinnacle grade.
- Infotainment: Uconnect 5 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto come standard. Chrysler does not offer a head-up display in the Pacifica.
- Fuel efficiency: The traditional V6 is rated at 12.4 L/100 km in the city, 8.4 on the highway, and 10.6 combined. With all-wheel drive, those figures change to 14.1, 9.4, and 12.0 L/100 km. The hybrid uses 2.9 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres and 8.0 L/100 km combined.
Which 2021 Chrysler Pacifica trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is offered in 5 trim levels: Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus, Limited, and Pinnacle.
Here's the short version:
- Touring: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Pacifica’s core family-friendly packaging and is the least expensive way into the lineup.
- Touring-L: This is the best-value trim if you want the safety equipment that starts appearing at this grade without jumping too far up the price ladder.
- Touring-L Plus: Choose this if you want a richer equipment mix than Touring-L while staying below the luxury-focused upper trims.
- Limited: This is the right step if you want a well-equipped Pacifica with a more upscale feel and broader feature coverage.
- Pinnacle: This is the trim to buy if you want the most premium Pacifica, with the richest materials, the most upscale presentation, and the strongest feature set.
The Pinnacle also gets the most advanced safety and convenience content, including features that are standard on that grade or available in packages.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chrysler Pacifica?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 20.95% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $26,370 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica's resale value?
The current average of $26,370 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,358 CAD.
That drop suggests the Pacifica has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you if you are shopping now. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the market to reward well-kept examples with desirable equipment, but the current trend shows that values have already softened from last year’s level. For a future seller, that means condition, trim choice, and mileage will matter even more when it comes time to list.
Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica safe?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has received a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
In Canada, most safety features come into the picture at the Touring-L grade, including automatic pedestrian emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and forward collision warning with active braking. Adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, front parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and lane departure warning with lane keep assist are available in packages or standard on the Pinnacle grade.
Should I buy a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 20.95% compared with last year.
- The refreshed styling, updated technology, and premium Pinnacle trim matter to you.
The bottom line: If you want the most updated version of this generation, the 2021 Pacifica is the one to target because it brings the styling refresh, the latest tech, and a strong safety story. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2021 is the better pick when you want the most complete mix of family utility and premium features.
