Used 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 14.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 706 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 4.62/5 user rating and a 5.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable ride, spacious interior, and strong performance, especially with the diesel engine options. Many also like the power and smooth shifting of the 10-speed transmission. For you, that means the Silverado still makes sense if you want a proven full-size truck with broad appeal and strong sales support.

That said, the same owner feedback points to some disappointment with the interior quality and sound system, so the truck’s strengths are real but not universal. Even so, 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers trust for comfortable daily use, strong performance, and a diesel option they especially appreciate. That kind of praise usually lines up with a vehicle people feel they can count on over time.

From an expert perspective, the Silverado is described as fundamentally sound, with strong sales and loyal buyers helping it stay relevant. The main caution for used buyers is that long-term ownership satisfaction does not erase the fact that some details, especially interior quality, still trail the best trucks in the segment.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Silverado comes in three cab styles, three bed lengths, and eight different trim levels, with each trim carrying a distinctive appearance. The LTZ test truck sat one rung below the top-of-the-lineup High Country, and the cabin quality was a weak point even in that higher trim, so you should pay close attention to interior finish and equipment before you buy.
• Powertrain: You can choose from six different engines, including the available Duramax turbodiesel and the gas-fuelled 6.2-litre Ecotec3 V8. The Duramax is praised for smooth, seamless acceleration and strong torque, while the 10-speed automatic transmission is described as flawless.
• Safety package: Chevrolet offers forward collision alert, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert for every Silverado as either standard or optional equipment. Teen Driver safety technology is standard and free, while adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and a Safety Alert Seat are available; however, stop-and-go capability is missing and no lane-centering assistance system is available.
• Infotainment: The Silverado uses Chevrolet Infotainment System 3 with 7-inch and 8-inch screens. Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available on the LTZ test truck, and the system can include navigation, enhanced voice recognition, and wireless smartphone charging. OTA capability is not mentioned.
• Fuel efficiency: The Duramax turbodiesel returned 9.6 L/100 km in combined driving during testing, and Natural Resources Canada rated it at 10.0 L/100 km for combined driving.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: WT, LT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, LTZ, High Country, and Z71 Off-Road Package.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the work-focused starting point, and it gives you access to the Silverado’s basic utility and standard connectivity, but it is the least likely choice if you want a more polished cabin or richer equipment.
• LT: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it balances everyday usability with broader equipment availability, making it the best-value choice for many used buyers.
• Custom: Choose this if you want a straightforward Silverado with a bit more personality than the WT without moving too far up the price ladder.
• Custom Trail Boss: This is the better pick if you want a more rugged look and off-pavement attitude from the factory.
• RST: This suits you if styling matters and you want a more appearance-driven version of the truck.
• LTZ: This is the right choice if you want the more fully featured cabin, the larger 8-inch HD display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the stronger premium-equipment feel.
• High Country: This is the top-end luxury-leaning choice if you want the most upscale Silverado experience in this lineup.
• Z71 Off-Road Package: This is not a trim in the usual sense, but it is worth seeking out because the re-tuned suspension with Rancho twin-tube shock absorbers improves body control and makes the truck feel better on the road.

The safety package is broad, but you should still verify which driver-assistance features are standard on the specific trim you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 706 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.86% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,492 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $35,565 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,770 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition if they try to move a Silverado at the wrong time. If you buy now, you are starting from a lower price base than last year, which can help soften depreciation pressure later.

The Silverado’s loyal following and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples with desirable powertrains. Even so, resale will depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well the truck is equipped relative to similar listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns an unremarkable “Marginal” rating for front passenger protection in a small-overlap, frontal-impact collision, and the IIHS says its headlights are rated “Poor.” The Silverado’s overall four-star rating is dragged down by four-star frontal-impact results for the driver and front passenger from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet offers forward collision alert, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert for every Silverado as either standard or optional equipment. The truck also offers a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic collision notification through a paid subscription to connected services, and, with crew cabs, a rear-seat reminder system. Teen Driver safety technology is standard and free.

Upgrades include adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and a Safety Alert Seat driver's seat. Part of an optional Safety Package, it vibrates to get the driver’s attention. The main caveat is that stop-and-go capability is missing and no lane-centering assistance system is available.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year stands out for its fundamentally sound package, strong sales, and the available Duramax diesel, even though the truck still needs more attention to detail.

The bottom line: If you want a proven full-size truck with broad appeal and you can live with some interior and safety shortcomings, the 2021 Silverado 1500 remains a sensible used buy. If you are more price-sensitive, the softer market and decent inventory make this a good year to shop carefully and negotiate hard.
