Used 2020 Toyota Tacoma for Sale near Quebec

How much does the 2020 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 6.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 173 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Generally — 4.32/5 from owners and 7.5/10 from our experts. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Drivers repeatedly praise its reliability, practicality, and strong off-road capability, and they also like its design. The trade-offs are familiar: pricing can feel high, and some shoppers miss features such as heated seats and navigation.

That fits the Tacoma’s role as a truck for you if you value toughness and utility more than refinement or comfort polish. Good deal availability sits at 25.4%, so there are still worthwhile listings to compare.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.32/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the expert notes reinforce that this is a truck built around dependable off-road features and a straightforward, durable character. The cabin materials are described as bargain-grade, but they’re also expected to last.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about living with the Tacoma’s rougher edges and higher running costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Tacoma?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tacoma’s trims vary in equipment, and the base versions are more basic, while higher trims add more visual and hardware appeal. The Limited trim gets 18-inch alloy wheels, while TRD Pro models add LED headlights with TRD and PRO lighting, sequential turn signals, a chunkier grille, an aluminium skid plate, Fox Racing shocks, 16-inch black TRD wheels, all-terrain tyres, and a polished black exhaust tip.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the standard setup is a 3.5-litre V6 with 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and 4WD. A six-speed manual is optional on TRD Sport, Off-Road, and Pro, and it includes Clutch Start Cancel, hill start assist, and the ability to restart in first gear without pressing the clutch.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes forward-emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring is optional.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while an 8-inch system with navigation is available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 13.0 L/100 km in the city, 10.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.9 L/100 km combined. The manual is worse still.

Which 2020 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 3 trim levels: SR, TRD Sport, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point if you want the Tacoma’s core capability and standard safety equipment without paying for extra hardware. It suits you if you care most about getting into the model at the lowest price.
• TRD Sport: This is the best-value choice if you want a stronger mix of equipment and capability without jumping to the most expensive version. CarGurus recommends the Tacoma TRD Sport for shoppers who want several grand less than the pricier off-road-focused models.
• TRD Pro: This is the most specialised choice, with the most aggressive off-road hardware and the most distinctive appearance details. It suits you if trail capability and rugged character matter more than price.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard, and blind-spot monitoring remains optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Tacoma?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should be able to shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 173 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,041 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $40,041 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,673 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The Tacoma still has a strong reputation for durability and off-road ability, which helps support demand. Even so, the current trend suggests resale values are not rising from this point.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.32/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The 2020 Toyota Tacoma earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating and four-star ratings in frontal crash and side barrier and pole tests, with five-star ratings for rear passengers in NHTSA testing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes forward-emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring is optional.

One caveat is the lower Acceptable result for the front passenger in the small overlap test.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.32/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds useful design and technology updates while keeping the Tacoma’s dependable off-road character.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $42,833 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $40,041 CAD average.
• It adds Nightshade and Trail Special Editions plus standard dual-zone automatic climate control.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the better price and are comfortable with the Tacoma’s rugged, old-school personality. If you want a slightly newer version with a few extra updates and do not mind paying more, the 2021 is the secondary path to consider.
