Used 2020 RAM 2500 for Sale nearSaskatoon, SK

How much does the 2020 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 20.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 185 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 2500 earns a 4.85/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable ride, impressive interior features, and towing capability. The Cummins diesel engine is also called out as reliable, and the truck’s upscale cabin and strong technology help it stand out in the heavy-duty segment.

The main trade-off is that performance is described as sluggish, and some buyers may also notice the fuel-economy downside that comes with a truck this capable. Even so, if you want a heavy-duty pickup that leans into luxury, technology, and serious work ability, this year’s Ram 2500 fits that brief well.

With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a reliable, dependable Cummins diesel engine and a truck that owners feel they can count on for towing and everyday heavy-duty use. The expert drive notes that the diesel’s exhaust brake helps control speed on steep descents and can extend brake life, which supports long-term durability in hard-use situations.

The main ownership risk for used buyers is that this is still a heavy-duty truck with expensive hardware, so maintenance and repair costs can be higher if it has been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin ranges from work-truck simple to genuinely luxurious, with upper trims bringing very high-end materials, a more upscale look, and features such as the optional 12-inch vertical touchscreen. Base-trim trucks are much more basic, so you should check whether the equipment level matches how you plan to use the truck.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and a 6.7-litre Cummins inline-six diesel, with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and an electronic low-range transfer case. The V8 is the stronger choice for payload, while the diesel is the towing specialist and is described as especially capable under load.
• Safety package: The truck does not have a published crash-test rating here, and most driver assists are optional rather than standard. Available features include blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward emergency braking, so you should confirm exactly which systems are fitted on the truck you are considering.
• Infotainment: A 5-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth is standard, but the 8.4-inch Uconnect system is the better everyday choice. The 12-inch display is the standout upgrade, with huge maps, trailer-focused settings, and 360-degree camera views that make the truck much easier to live with.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada does not rate heavy-duty trucks for fuel efficiency, but the diesel test vehicle averaged close to 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres over more than 800 mostly highway kilometres.

Which 2020 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, and Power Wagon.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the Ram 2500 lineup and plan to use the truck mainly as a work tool. You give up the richer cabin materials and upscale presentation found higher up the range.
• Big Horn: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of equipment and value without jumping all the way to the luxury end. It should suit buyers who want more comfort and convenience than the base truck, but do not need the most lavish interior.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves the Ram 2500 into the more premium side of the lineup without going all the way to the top. It is a strong fit if you want a noticeably nicer cabin and the truck’s standout technology.
• Laramie Longhorn: This trim leans hard into the upscale interior theme, with the kind of materials and craftsmanship that make the cabin feel far more luxurious than a typical heavy-duty pickup. Choose it if interior ambience matters as much as capability.
• Limited: This is the most luxurious mainstream choice in the lineup, with the richest materials and the most premium feel. It is the right pick if you want the Ram 2500 to feel as close as possible to a high-end SUV inside.
• Power Wagon: This is the specialist trim for buyers who want the truck’s off-road character. It is the one to focus on if your use case includes rough terrain and you want the Ram’s capability to lean in that direction.

The safety content notes that most driver assists are optional, so you should verify which systems are included on any truck you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 185 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,411 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $42,462 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,228 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you are thinking about short-term resale. For a future seller, the key question will be whether the truck’s condition, equipment, and diesel or luxury content help it stand out from the broader inventory.

Because this model year still has strong owner satisfaction and a reputation for capability, well-kept examples should remain appealing to shoppers who want a heavy-duty truck with a premium feel. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward emergency braking. That means you should check carefully for the safety equipment fitted on any used example, especially if you want the truck to have the most useful everyday assistance features.

The safety write-up also notes that the truck itself is not rated by NHTSA or IIHS here, so there is no crash-test result to lean on for this model year. That makes equipment verification especially important when you are comparing listings.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year is positioned as a heavy-duty truck that combines top-grade luxury, technology, and capability in a package meant for demanding work.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty pickup that feels unusually upscale and still delivers serious towing and hauling ability, the 2020 Ram 2500 is the year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also use the softened market to shop carefully and focus on the best-equipped example you can find within your budget.
