What is the 2020 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $25,797 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,201 CAD.

That decline suggests the CX-9 has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from that lower entry point, though resale gains are likely to depend on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been kept. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,460 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,797 CAD average.
• It adds updated 2021.5 improvements and a more refined ownership experience.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and a strong owner satisfaction record. If you can stretch your budget for newer updates and are less focused on price, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
