Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a practical midsize SUV with available three-row versatility, standard all-wheel drive, and a broad spread of trims, so you can tailor it to family use or everyday commuting. Its safety and equipment story is also a strength, with standard rear parking sensors and available forward collision and lane-departure warnings, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto availability. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Sorento’s appeal comes from its steady improvement in safety and equipment, along with a practical layout that suits family use. It also has strong crash-test results, including five stars across all NHTSA crash tests and “Good” IIHS scores with Top Safety Pick recognition. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a version that fits your needs well, since the base four-cylinder was described as too weak and the V6 uses more fuel.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 380 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,775 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $17,775 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,428 CAD.

That softer pricing can make the Sorento easier to buy now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about where the market is headed. If prices stay near the current level, resale gains are likely to be limited in the near term. Still, the Sorento’s practical layout and family-friendly appeal should help it remain relevant with used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sorento is the better path if you want a used midsize SUV with standard all-wheel drive, available three-row versatility, and a strong value story in today’s market. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2020’s stronger equipment and market position.
