Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a practical midsize SUV with available three-row versatility, standard all-wheel drive, and a broad spread of trims, so you can tailor it to family duty or everyday use. Its safety record and available convenience features also make it appealing if you want a used SUV that feels well rounded rather than bare bones. 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Sorento’s appeal comes from its practical layout, standard all-wheel drive, and the sense that Kia had already refined this generation into a more substantial family SUV. Its strong safety results and available driver-assist features add confidence for daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a version that doesn’t suit your needs, especially if you want stronger performance or plan to carry passengers and cargo regularly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 388 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,047 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $18,047 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,511 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Sorento easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sorento is a sensible choice if you want a practical midsize SUV with standard all-wheel drive, available three-row versatility, and strong safety credentials. If you’re price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower-priced example offers similar equipment and condition, but the 2020 remains a solid primary target when you want a balanced used family SUV.
