Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2020 Kia Sorento, and it fits well if you want a practical midsize SUV with available three-row versatility and a broad spread of trims. The standard all-wheel drive and available family-friendly equipment make it a sensible pick if you value capability and everyday usefulness. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Sorento’s safety record and equipment story support that impression, with strong crash-test results and useful available driver-assistance features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a version that feels underpowered or less efficient than you want, so it pays to match the engine and trim to your needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 391 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,639 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $17,668 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,295 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Sorento more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim choice than on broad market momentum. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sorento is the better primary choice if you want a practical midsize SUV with standard all-wheel drive, available three-row versatility, and strong safety credentials. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a closer look, but the 2020 remains the more balanced pick for most shoppers.
