Is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its strong performance, comfortable ride, and spacious, well-equipped interior. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a compact SUV with everyday usability and a bit of Jeep character, especially if you value all-weather traction and a practical cabin. Is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise for its comfortable ride and overall performance. That said, the model line has had a reputation for transmission concerns in earlier third-generation years, so you should still pay close attention to service history and how the vehicle drives on a test route. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid a poorly maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 503 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,204 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $21,204 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,990 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Cherokee has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the current average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance records. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Cherokee makes sense if you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 is the better pick when you want a balance of value, features, and buyer confidence.
