Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,842 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,804 CAD average.
• It adds a more performance-focused N Line identity.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the stronger value play and a well-equipped midsize sedan with broad owner appeal. If you are willing to pay a bit more for a sportier personality, the 2021 is the better secondary path for price-sensitive buyers who still want a newer alternative.
