How much does the 2020 Hyundai Sonata cost?

There are 104 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Hyundai Sonata earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its great value, smooth ride, and abundance of features, and many also like the comfortable interior and safety equipment. It fits especially well if you want a well-equipped midsize sedan that feels polished and practical for everyday use. With 38.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the car’s trouble-free feel and confidence over the long term. That said, as with any used car, your risk depends on maintenance history and how carefully the previous owner treated it, so a thorough inspection still matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Sonata?

The market looks moderately favourable for selective buyers, especially if you are willing to compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 104 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.90% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,688 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $18,860 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,163 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect a more competitive used market rather than a strong appreciation story. Even so, the Sonata’s broad appeal and feature-rich reputation can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,987 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,860 CAD average.
• It adds a performance-focused N Line option for drivers who want more punch.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better primary pick if you want the strongest value and a broad pool of listings to compare. If you are price-sensitive, it is the smarter buy; if you want a more performance-oriented version, the 2021 is worth a look.
