Used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale nearNew Hamburg, ON

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 479 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable seating, great features, and strong value for the price. They also like its safety features and spaciousness, which fit well with its role as a practical five-passenger family SUV. The main trade-offs are an engine that can feel underpowered and noisy, plus some disappointment around missing amenities on certain versions.

That lines up with the Santa Fe’s use case as a stylish, well-equipped crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, especially if you want family practicality without moving up to a larger three-row model. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, especially because of its comfort, value, and safety equipment. Reviewers also describe it as spacious and well equipped, which usually helps day-to-day dependability feel more reassuring.

On the expert side, the Santa Fe is described as refined in operation, with build quality that is exceptionally good and controls that work with polish. Hyundai also backs it with a five-year/100,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty, plus five years of roadside assistance and three years of BlueLink connected services.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the base engine may leave you wanting more, so a well-maintained example with the right powertrain matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate are the four trim levels. Essential is the one to scrutinize most closely because AWD is optional there, while higher trims add more convenience and safety equipment. Luxury and Ultimate also bring more distinctive equipment and design touches.
• Powertrain: The standard 185-horsepower 2.4-litre four-cylinder is the weakest point, while the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder delivers 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque and is the better choice if you want stronger passing power and better performance at altitude.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, and you need Luxury trim for that.
• Infotainment: Every Santa Fe gets Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Preferred adds SiriusXM and Blue Link connected services, while Ultimate brings an 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The entry-level engine with FWD uses 10.8 L/100 km in the city, 8.0 on the highway, and 9.6 combined. With AWD, those figures rise to 11.3 L/100 km city, 8.8 highway, and 10.1 combined. The turbocharged engine with AWD uses 12.0 L/100 km city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.

Which 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it is also the trim where you need to pay closest attention to equipment gaps. AWD is optional here, and some safety content is not included unless you move up.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds SiriusXM, Blue Link connected services, and useful safety-related features while staying below the more expensive luxury-focused versions.
• Luxury: This is the trim to target if you want the stronger safety package, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, plus the Blind View Monitor.
• Ultimate: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the larger 8-inch display, navigation, wireless charging, and the 12-speaker Infinity audio system. It also gets the turbocharged engine, making it the most complete package if you want the best mix of features and performance.

The safety-package gap on Essential and Preferred is the key trim-level difference to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 479 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,143 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $20,143 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,320 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Santa Fe has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less ideal if you are planning to sell soon. If you own one, the softer market means you may need to price competitively to stand out against similar listings.

Even so, the model’s strong value reputation and broad appeal should help it remain attractive to used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. A rear-seat reminder system is standard, and Preferred and up add safe exit assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, and you need Luxury trim for that.

Luxury trim also adds the Blind View Monitor, which uses cameras to show a live feed of what is in the blind spots. That gives you an extra layer of awareness beyond the traditional warning system.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is the only Santa Fe in the lineup for this year, and it brings useful updates such as a standard rear-seat reminder system and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, safety, and everyday usability, the 2020 is a strong choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2020’s updated equipment and strong owner satisfaction.
