Used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe for Sale nearKingston, ON

How much does the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 472 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable seating, great features, value for the price, safety features, and spaciousness. That lines up well with the Santa Fe’s role as a practical five-passenger crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, especially if you want family-friendly utility without moving up to a larger three-row model.

The main trade-offs are the underpowered, noisy base engine and a design that may not suit everyone. Even so, the Santa Fe’s easy-to-use technology and comfortable cabin make it a strong fit if you value everyday usability over driving excitement.

With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still a decent amount of attractive inventory to shop.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, well equipped, and easy to live with over time. The repeated praise for value, safety features, and spaciousness also suggests this is the kind of SUV many buyers can count on for daily use.

The expert evaluation adds to that impression with a refined, well-built cabin and controls that operate with refinement. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the base engine may leave you wanting more, especially if you regularly carry passengers or drive in demanding conditions.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate trims differ meaningfully in equipment and appearance. The base Essential is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, since blind-spot warning is unavailable there and it also lacks some of the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The standard 185-horsepower 2.4-litre four-cylinder is the least appealing choice, while the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder brings 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. If you want stronger passing power, better altitude performance, and a more satisfying drive, the turbo engine is the one to prioritise.
• Safety package: The Santa Fe offers a suite that includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, while Luxury adds those features along with the Blind View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every Santa Fe gets Bluetooth plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Preferred adds SiriusXM and Blue Link connected services, while Luxury adds a surround-view camera system and Ultimate brings an 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The entry-level engine with front-wheel drive uses 10.8 L/100 km in the city, 8.0 on the highway, and 9.6 combined. With all-wheel drive, that rises to 11.3 L/100 km city, 8.8 highway, and 10.1 combined. The turbocharged engine with all-wheel drive uses 12.0 L/100 km city, 9.2 highway, and 10.7 combined.

Which 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 4 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped down compared with the rest of the range. If you want the lowest purchase price and can live without some of the more useful safety and convenience features, it gets you into the Santa Fe lineup.
• Preferred: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds SiriusXM, Blue Link connected services, and useful safety and convenience upgrades. If you want a well-rounded Santa Fe without stretching to the top trims, this is the one to focus on.
• Luxury: This trim is the smart step-up if you want the safety equipment that is missing from the lower trims, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the Blind View Monitor. It also adds the surround-view camera system, making it a strong pick if safety tech matters most.
• Ultimate: This is the most fully equipped version, with the larger 8-inch display, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and the 12-speaker Infinity audio system. Choose it if you want the most polished and feature-rich Santa Fe experience.

The safety-package gap is important here: blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, so Luxury is the trim that closes that hole.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 472 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,047 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $20,053 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,175 CAD.

That price decline suggests the Santa Fe has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from that lower entry price, but resale gains are less likely to be dramatic unless market conditions improve.

The Santa Fe’s strong value proposition and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a comfortable, well-equipped two-row SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe’s safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver monitoring system. A rear-seat reminder system is standard, and safe exit assist is added on Preferred and up.

There are also trim-level gaps to keep in mind. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not available on Essential or Preferred, and you need Luxury trim to get them. Luxury also adds the Blind View Monitor, which uses cameras to show what is in the blind spots.

Should I buy a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is the only Santa Fe for 2020, giving you a five-passenger crossover with useful updates like a standard rear-seat reminder system and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: The 2020 Santa Fe makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped, value-focused two-row SUV with strong safety credentials and a broad used-market selection. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2020 remains a compelling choice thanks to its mix of comfort, technology, and safety.
