CarGurus Analysis: 2020 Honda Odyssey
Summary
With 14 currently listed for sale and an average price of $28,492 CAD, 28.6% of 2020 Honda Odyssey listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Honda Odyssey 4.78 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Honda Odyssey stands out as a family minivan that blends practicality with a more car-like driving feel. It keeps the Odyssey formula focused on front-wheel drive and a V6 engine, while also offering a cabin built around everyday family use. Honda’s emphasis on safety and versatility is a major part of its appeal, and the Odyssey has earned strong recognition over the years for its crash performance and driver-assistance technology.
For 2020, the Odyssey uses the 3.5-litre J-Series V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with the ten-speed automatic transmission that became standard across the lineup from 2020. It also offers a long list of family-friendly equipment, including the Honda Sensing suite, a multi-angle rearview camera, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a moonroof, a power tailgate, leather seating, CabinTalk, a rear-seat entertainment system, and Magic Slide second-row seats that improve access to the rear. Higher trims can add ventilated front seats, a hands-free power tailgate, an 11-speaker audio system, leather piping, wireless phone charging, and the CabinWatch camera system.
There are trade-offs, though. The Odyssey does not offer all-wheel drive or a hybrid version, and some competitors provide more storage versatility. The 2020 model also sits in the part of the generation that has drawn complaints about electrical glitches, infotainment issues, and transmission issues, so a careful test drive and maintenance history are important. Even so, it remains appealing for buyers who want a spacious, well-equipped minivan with a strong safety focus and a reputation for family-friendly usefulness.

Yes — the 2020 Honda Odyssey earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise the spacious cabin, comfort, and user-friendly features. Many also like the luxurious feel and updated technology, which makes it especially appealing if you want a family vehicle that is easy to live with day to day. The Odyssey’s family-focused layout and practical versatility fit well if you need a minivan built around passengers and everyday use.
With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2020 Honda Odyssey reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable, with a reputation for being trouble-free enough to inspire repeat confidence. The comments also suggest strong long-term appeal thanks to its comfort, practicality, and family-friendly usability.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Odyssey?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on standout listings.

What is the 2020 Honda Odyssey's resale value?
The current average of $29,358 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,921 CAD.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

Choose the 2020 if:
- 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $37,318 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,358 CAD average.
- It adds upgraded safety, technology, and utility.
The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want a lower entry price and still want the core Odyssey strengths. Consider the 2021 if you’re willing to pay more for the newer model’s added polish and upgrades, especially if you value the latest family-focused features.
