Used 2020 Honda CR-V for Sale near Niagara Falls, ON

How much does the 2020 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 11.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 718 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda CR-V earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spacious cabin, excellent features, and strong performance, and they also highlight the advanced technology and safety equipment offered at a fair price. The CR-V’s broad appeal comes through in its practical, comfortable, easy-to-live-with character, which suits you well if you want a compact SUV that feels polished rather than flashy. The main trade-offs are its dated technology and cheap-feeling interior materials, so it makes the most sense if you value everyday usefulness over a cutting-edge cabin. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still decent market room to find a competitive example.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers repeatedly calling out the CR-V’s strong all-around usefulness and satisfaction over time. The expert assessment also reinforces that this is a well-sorted, familiar SUV that has had its wrinkles smoothed out over years of development. Honda’s drivetrain and packaging choices support that reputation, and the model’s value-oriented updates for 2020 help it feel like a sensible long-term buy. For used shoppers, the main ownership risk is less about outright fragility and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the simplest version, with fabric seating and fewer upscale touches, while higher trims add leather, larger wheels, moonroof equipment, and more premium interior details. The biggest feature gaps are at the lower trims, where you miss some of the comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: Every grade uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. It is tuned for smooth, efficient everyday driving rather than excitement, and it feels especially well matched to the CR-V’s easygoing character.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard, bringing forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring starts on Sport and above, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is reserved for Touring and Black Edition.
• Infotainment: You get a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a system that can feel dated and fiddly to use. Touring and Black Edition add built-in navigation and a wireless phone charger.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 7.7 L/100 km combined, while AWD models are rated at 8.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda CR-V is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the CR-V’s core strengths at the lowest price, but it is the least equipped version and misses some of the comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim. It adds 19-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, blind-spot display, a moonroof, a 12-way power driver’s seat, and cosmetic upgrades that make the extra cost easier to justify.
• EX-L: This trim is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin, because it adds leather upholstery, heated rear outboard seats, wood-look inserts, and SiriusXM satellite radio capability.
• Touring: This is the more premium choice, with a panoramic moonroof, upgraded blind-spot monitoring, a wireless phone charger, rain-sensing wipers, and LED headlights.
• Black Edition: This is the most lavish version, adding the same premium equipment as Touring along with cosmetic enhancements and the top-end presentation.

The safety-package note is simple: blind-spot monitoring starts on Sport, and rear cross-traffic monitoring is limited to Touring and Black Edition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 718 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,212 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $25,215 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,346 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the CR-V easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you own one, the softer pricing means you should expect more competition from similarly priced examples when it is time to list. On the other hand, the CR-V’s broad appeal and practical reputation help support steady demand, especially among shoppers who want a proven compact SUV rather than a niche choice.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2020 Honda CR-V earned a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA, including five stars in the frontal crash test, five stars in the side crash test, and four stars in the rollover test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is limited to Sport and above, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is reserved for Touring and Black Edition. The main caveat is that IIHS noted marginal halogen headlight performance on trims below Touring, so the Touring and Black Edition are the safer bet if nighttime visibility matters to you.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda added engine and safety upgrades that improve fuel efficiency and value.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,616 CAD, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $25,215 CAD average.
• It is a refined, roomy, and historically reliable compact SUV.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $25,887 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,215 CAD average.
• It is a widely trusted, practical compact SUV with broad appeal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want the updated drivetrain and safety improvements without moving up in price too far. If your priority is saving money, the 2019 is the better value path, while the 2021 makes sense if you want to pay a bit more for the next model year’s broader-market appeal.
