Used 2020 Honda CR-V for Sale near Prince Edward Island

How much does the 2020 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 11.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 705 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda CR-V earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, strong performance, and safety features, and many also value the fair pricing and advanced technology. The main trade-offs are the dated infotainment setup and some concerns about interior materials, which keep it from feeling especially premium. For you, that means a compact SUV that fits well as a practical daily driver, family hauler, or long-term commuter rather than a flashy choice. 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many shoppers find dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time. The expert assessment also supports that impression by describing the CR-V as a thoroughly sorted crossover with a long track record of success and a well-developed drivetrain. Honda’s ownership proposition is helped further by the fact that the model has been refined over many years rather than rushed into a new formula. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-used example may show wear in the areas owners already flag most often, especially technology and interior quality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is front-wheel drive and comes with fabric seating, while higher trims add features like leather upholstery, larger wheels, moonroof equipment, and more upscale cabin touches. The biggest feature gaps at the lower end are the missing blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic monitoring.
• Powertrain: Every grade uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with 190 horsepower and a CVT. It is tuned for smooth, fuel-efficient everyday use rather than outright speed.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and road departure mitigation, and adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist. Blind-spot monitoring is limited to Sport trims and above, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is reserved for Touring and Black Edition.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Touring and Black Edition add navigation and a wireless phone charger, but the system is still dated and can be awkward to use.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel-drive models are rated at 7.7 L/100 km combined, while all-wheel-drive models are rated at 8.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda CR-V is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is the least compelling choice if you want the CR-V’s best mix of value and equipment. It gives you the core CR-V experience, but you give up some of the convenience and safety extras that make the higher trims easier to live with.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers. It adds 19-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, blind-spot display, a moonroof, and a 12-way power driver’s seat, making the jump from LX feel meaningful.
• EX-L: This trim is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin without stretching too far. It adds leather upholstery, heated rear outboard seats, wood-look inserts, and SiriusXM satellite radio capability.
• Touring: This trim adds navigation, a wireless phone charger, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic moonroof, upgraded blind-spot monitoring, and LED headlights. It suits you best if you want the most complete CR-V experience.
• Black Edition: This is the most fully equipped version, but much of what it adds is cosmetic or convenience-focused. It makes sense if you want the top trim and do not mind paying for it.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, but blind-spot monitoring starts at Sport and rear cross-traffic monitoring is limited to Touring and Black Edition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent options.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 705 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,082 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $25,094 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,237 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CR-V has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help keep demand healthy in the near term. For a future seller, the softer market means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly. Even so, the CR-V’s broad appeal and strong reputation should help support resale interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2020 Honda CR-V earned five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in the frontal crash test, five-star ratings in the side crash test, and four-star ratings in the rollover test. The CR-V also earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick designation, with caveats for trims below Touring.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is limited to Sport trims and above, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is reserved for Touring and Black Edition. The main caveat is the halogen headlights on lower trims, which scored only Marginal in IIHS testing.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model year brought engine and safety upgrades that improved fuel efficiency and value.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $22,239 CAD, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $25,094 CAD average.
• It is refined, roomy, and historically reliable.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $25,674 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,094 CAD average.
• It remains broadly popular and satisfies a wide range of buyers.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around choice if you want the updated drivetrain and safety improvements without moving up to a newer, pricier year. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 is the value play; if you want to spend a bit more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2021 is worth a look.
