Used 2023 Honda CR-V for Sale near Niagara Falls, ON

How much does the 2023 Honda CR-V cost?

Prices have softened 8.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 977 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Honda CR-V earns a 4.7/5 from owners and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, quality interior, and great features, and they also like its safety and economy. That lines up well with the CR-V’s practical family-SUV mission, especially if you want something comfortable, roomy, and easy to live with. The main trade-offs are the irritating transmission, uninspired styling, and limited technological innovation. Even so, with 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still a decent amount of market value to be found.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the CR-V’s smooth ride, quality interior, safety, and economy. The expert review also describes it as a vehicle that will likely remain one of the best-selling vehicles in Canada, which supports the case for long-term confidence. Honda’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that past reliability concerns with older models may still make some shoppers cautious.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EX-L adds leather-wrapped seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a larger touchscreen, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power rear liftgate, and front and rear parking sensors. Lower grades use cloth upholstery and a smaller touchscreen, and some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: Gas-only models use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT. It is strong enough for the class, but the transmission can drone under hard acceleration.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a seatbelt reminder system, a rear-seat reminder system, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist. Some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Most trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX-L upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says the test vehicle should see 8.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and the review team averaged 8.1 L/100 km on a mountainous route.

Which 2023 Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda CR-V is offered in 4 trim levels: LX-B, Sport, EX-L, Touring Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• LX-B: This is the entry point, but it is also the most stripped-down version, and some B trims can omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense only if you are focused on the lowest possible price.
• Sport: This trim adds more equipment than the base model and sits in the middle of the range, but the review does not position it as the standout value pick.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it brings the larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, an upgraded sound system, leather upholstery, and useful convenience upgrades without forcing you into the top hybrid model.
• Touring Hybrid: This is the top trim and the only hybrid offered in Canada, so it is the one to consider if you want the most equipment and are specifically shopping for the hybrid powertrain.

Honda’s safety package is broadly standard, but some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda CR-V?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and enough price movement to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 977 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,171 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $32,178 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,073 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a double-edged sword for future sellers. On one hand, it may help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. On the other, it suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The CR-V’s strong reputation for comfort, utility, and owner satisfaction should help support demand, but the current trend still points to a more buyer-friendly market than a seller-friendly one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda CR-V safe?

The 2023 Honda CR-V earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a seatbelt reminder system, a rear-seat reminder system, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist. Some B trims omit blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The review also notes that lane-centring assist can be uncertain in some highway transition situations.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings an overdue infusion of new infotainment systems and safety features, plus the first Canadian availability of the hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want the redesigned CR-V with stronger tech and safety than the previous year, along with a market that has softened enough to create some buying opportunities. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it carefully with nearby model years, but the 2023 is the more complete and up-to-date choice.
