What is the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $33,531 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,017 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.48/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,573 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $33,531 CAD average.
• It keeps the Silverado’s proven full-size truck appeal while adding strong sales momentum and rebate support.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping the market for a well-priced example. Consider the 2021 if you are willing to pay more for a newer model-year alternative and want to compare its broader market appeal before deciding. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 is the more compelling starting point.
