Used 2020 Acura MDX for Sale nearBurlington, ON

How much does the 2020 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 18.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 76 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2020 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Acura MDX earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its spacious cabin, safety features, and comfort, and many also like the power it delivers for family use. The MDX’s broad appeal comes through in its practical three-row layout and its reputation as a proven luxury SUV with loyal repeat buyers.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, and the technology feels dated relative to the price. Even so, the MDX makes sense if you want a family-focused luxury crossover that prioritises usefulness, safety, and a well-rounded ownership experience over flash.

Only 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2020 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for the MDX’s spaciousness, safety, and comfort. The expert review also highlights solid build quality and a well-behaved drivetrain, which supports the impression that this is a vehicle you can count on over time.

Acura’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core reliability and more about whether the dated technology and higher running costs fit your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX is nicely equipped, but it lacks the special tech extras that define the higher packages. If you want more convenience and luxury features, the Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Technology Plus package, and Elite Package add progressively more equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic, with all-wheel drive standard in Canada. The MDX Sport Hybrid uses a 3.0-litre V6 with three electric motors, 321 hp, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is added with the Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The base model includes an 8.0-inch upper display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, five USB ports, SiriusXM, and an eight-speaker audio system. Higher packages add navigation, premium audio, and more advanced convenience features.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the SH-AWD model at 12.3 L/100 km in the city, 9.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.9 L/100 km combined. The Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is rated at 9.1 L/100 km city, 9.0 L/100 km highway, and 9.0 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Acura MDX is offered in 5 trim levels: SH-AWD, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Technology Plus, Elite Package.

Here's the short version:

• SH-AWD: This is the best-value starting point if you want the MDX’s core strengths: standard all-wheel drive, strong safety equipment, and a well-equipped cabin without paying for extras you may not need.
• Technology Package: This is the trim to target if you want the most meaningful upgrade in everyday usability, because it adds navigation, parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want the Technology Package equipment plus a sportier appearance and extra comfort touches such as heated and ventilated front seats and 20-inch wheels.
• Technology Plus: This trim adds heated rear outboard seats, auto-leveling headlamps, and upgraded audio, making it a stronger pick for families who want more rear-seat comfort and convenience.
• Elite Package: This is the most feature-rich version, adding a surround-view camera, active damper system, and rear entertainment, so it suits buyers who want the most luxury and technology in one package.

AcuraWatch is standard, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert arrive with the Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 76 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,724 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $30,240 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,188 CAD.

That price movement suggests the MDX has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now and worrying about near-term value loss. For a future seller, the softer market means resale gains are less likely in the short run unless the vehicle is especially well kept and attractively equipped.

The MDX’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Acura MDX safe?

The 2020 Acura MDX earns Good ratings from IIHS, acceptable headlights, superior front crash prevention, and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is added with the Technology Package, while the Elite Package upgrades to a surround-view camera.

One caveat is that the headlights are rated only acceptable by IIHS, so shoppers who drive frequently at night may want to pay attention to trim and lighting equipment.

Should I buy a 2020 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model combines standard advanced safety features with a spacious three-row layout and a well-rounded luxury package.

The bottom line: If you want a used MDX with strong safety, broad appeal, and a lower average price than it had a year ago, the 2020 is a sensible choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping for a listing near the low end of the range and focus on the trim that gives you the features you’ll actually use.
