Is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Toyota Tacoma earns a 4.22/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its reliability, solid performance, and features, and many also value its longevity and resale value. It fits well if you want a manageable mid-size truck for work, recreation, or modification, especially if you care more about toughness and off-road ability than interior space or refinement. With 25.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.22/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights reliability, longevity, and a truck that many owners feel they can count on over time. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used pickup that is built for long-term ownership rather than short-term novelty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for that reputation if the truck has been heavily used or poorly maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Tacoma?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 147 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,501 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $38,218 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,093 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tacoma has eased a bit, but not enough to weaken its broader resale appeal. If you buy well now, you may still benefit from the model's reputation for durability and steady demand. For a future seller, that means the Tacoma should remain easier to move than many trucks, especially if it is well kept and equipped in a desirable configuration.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.22/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.22/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $40,120 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $38,218 CAD average.
• It adds minor design and technology updates.

The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable with the Tacoma's rugged, no-nonsense character. If you are price-sensitive, the 2019 is the smarter path; if you want the newer model-year updates and do not mind paying more, the 2020 is the alternative to compare.
