Used 2019 Ford Ranger for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2019 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 12.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 110 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2019 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Ranger earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its robust performance, advanced technology, responsive engine, towing capacity, and good fuel economy. For you, that means the Ranger makes the most sense if you want a midsize pickup that leans into capability and value rather than trying to be a full-size truck. It also has a clear identity thanks to its single-engine, single-transmission approach.

With 24.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its robust performance and responsive engine. The expert drive notes also support that impression by describing the 2.3-litre EcoBoost as a stout, eager engine, and by saying there’s no indication of issues so far with the powertrain in this application.

Ford also includes useful maintenance-minded value in the ownership equation through the Ranger’s strong cost-effectiveness positioning. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a truck with options and prior use can hide wear, so you should pay close attention to service history and how hard it was worked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Ranger?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, with steel 16-inch wheels, a manual-locking tailgate, cloth upholstery, and a spartan four-speaker stereo. It still includes a rear-view camera, USB port, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, but you’ll want to compare it carefully against higher trims if you value comfort and convenience.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It delivers strong towing and hauling numbers, plus competitive fuel economy, but the transmission can feel reluctant unless you use Sport mode.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 adds auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer tow monitoring, lane-keep warning and assist, forward and reverse parking sensors, and a 110-volt power outlet. Some of these features are optional rather than standard on lower trims.
• Infotainment: The XL includes Bluetooth, a rear-view camera, USB port, and Aux jack. Higher trims can be equipped with Ford Sync3, which adds Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Sirius XM, while the Lariat gets an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The Ranger is rated at 10.9 L/100 km combined, with 11.8 L/100 km in the city and 9.8 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2019 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Ranger is offered in 3 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and can live with a basic cabin. It still gives you standard 4WD in Canada, a 6-foot bed, SuperCab seating, and key safety tech, so it’s the trim to consider if you care most about capability and price.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a 4.2-inch centre screen with Ford Sync, a six-speaker stereo, 17-inch alloys, and more upgrade potential. If you want a better balance of comfort, tech, and price, start here.
• Lariat: This is the choice if you want the most upscale Ranger experience, with leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen, LED lighting, and 18-inch alloys.

The safety package is worth adding if you’re shopping lower trims, since it brings several useful driver-assistance features that aren’t standard across the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Ranger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 110 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.79% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,701 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $27,701 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,763 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower baseline than last year, which can help reduce depreciation pressure if prices stabilise.

The Ranger’s strong value proposition should help support demand, especially because shoppers continue to respond to its capability and fuel economy. Well-equipped examples may hold up better than heavily optioned trucks if the market stays price-sensitive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Ranger safe?

The 2019 Ford Ranger earns a four-star safety rating from NHTSA. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates it Good in most tests, with Acceptable in the passenger-side small front-overlap test and Marginal headlights.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s available safety systems include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, plus the optional Co-Pilot360 suite with auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer tow monitoring, lane-keep warning and assist, forward and reverse parking sensors, and a 110-volt power outlet.

The main caveat is that the IIHS headlight result is only Marginal, and the vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention did not receive a perfect score.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 24.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It returns to North America with a simple, capable single-engine setup.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $30,708 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,701 CAD average.
• It adds a more polished technology and versatility focus.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and inventory is available. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the secondary path for shoppers who prioritise a slightly more modern overall package.
