Is the 2019 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Nissan Altima earns a 4.88/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its smooth drive, advanced tech features, stylish design, comfortable seating, and responsive handling. That lines up well with its role as a comfort-focused midsize sedan that still gives you useful everyday equipment and standard all-wheel drive in Canada.

With 26.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2019 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the car’s smooth driving character and overall confidence in the purchase. That kind of response suggests the Altima can be a sensible choice if you want a used sedan you can count on for regular commuting and year-round use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about whether the car’s condition and maintenance history match its strong reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 61 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,261 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $16,775 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,014 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face softer pricing if they wait too long. If you buy at today’s average, you should expect resale to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,544 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,775 CAD average.
• It adds broader appeal with easy-to-use technology and multiple powertrain options.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping a market with decent deal availability. Consider the 2020 if you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and want the extra appeal of its broader feature set; for price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 is the smarter starting point.
