CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Lexus RX
Summary
With 16 currently listed for sale and an average price of $31,395 CAD, 18.8% of 2019 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Lexus RX 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that puts comfort and refinement ahead of flashier ambitions. Lexus has long leaned into those strengths, and the RX’s reputation for reliability and strong resale value helps explain why it remains such a popular used choice. It is also positioned as a more affordable alternative to European rivals, which adds to its appeal for buyers who want a premium badge without paying quite as much at the outset.
For 2019, the RX sits within the fourth generation, which brought a sharper design, more passenger space, and a more traditional dashboard layout than before. Standard all-wheel drive in Canada is part of its appeal, and the RX also benefits from a broad safety package that became standard in 2017. By this point in the generation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were standard equipment, and the RX 350 carried an estimated combined fuel consumption of 10.8 L/100 km, while the RX 450h was rated at 7.9 L/100 km combined.
There are trade-offs, though. The RX is not especially sporty, and its handling remains tuned more for comfort than for performance. It is also not the best choice if towing strength or off-road ability are priorities. Even so, for buyers who value a quiet, comfortable, and dependable luxury SUV, the 2019 Lexus RX makes a strong case for itself.

The car is of great value and the features are awesome and easy to understand. Seats are very comfortable. Rides smoothly. It would not change a thing. I have always had BIG SUVS and this one is a smaller size but fits everything i need.

| Year-Round High | $38,737 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $37,293 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −8.78% |

There are 98 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2019 Lexus RX a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating, and that lines up with what owners repeatedly praise: comfort, luxurious features, and a smooth ride. The user feedback also highlights the value of its all-wheel drive and the confidence that comes with strong reliability. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a refined luxury SUV that prioritises daily comfort and family-friendly usability over flash. With 40.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Lexus RX reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to reliability as one of the RX’s core strengths, with drivers specifically valuing how dependable it feels over time. That kind of trouble-free reputation is a major reason many used buyers keep the RX on their shortlist. For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical confidence and more about finding one that has been maintained well and priced appropriately.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus RX?
This looks like a favourable buyer’s market if you are shopping for a used 2019 Lexus RX.
- Deal availability: 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 98 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.78% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $33,733 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Lexus RX's resale value?
The current average of $34,017 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,293 CAD.
That price movement suggests the RX has become a bit more accessible for buyers, which can narrow the gap between what you pay now and what a future buyer may be willing to pay later. Even so, the model’s reputation for comfort and reliability helps support demand in the used market. Because the RX has a strong following, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than many luxury SUVs with weaker owner satisfaction.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Lexus RX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 40.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.78% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $38,122 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $34,017 CAD average.
- It adds two-row and three-row flexibility.
The bottom line:
Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and a strong ownership reputation. If you are willing to spend more for added seating flexibility, the 2020 is the better alternative; if not, the 2019 is the smarter buy for price-conscious shoppers.
