Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 104 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,581 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $13,584 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,799 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the Sonata is currently in a softer resale position, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If you own one, the current market indicates you may need to price competitively to move it quickly. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help you preserve more value over your ownership period if you buy at the right number.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want a roomy, well-equipped midsize sedan at a softer used-car price and you value comfort, fuel economy, and strong owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar Sonata can be had for less, but the 2019 remains a sensible primary target when the right listing appears.
