For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may feel dated inside and may have missing convenience features compared with newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Edge?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, and push-button start, while the SEL adds roof rails, heated front seats, rear parking sensors, and available heated steering wheel and sunroof. The Titanium adds leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, remote start, and a Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker premium sound system, while the ST adds blacked-out styling, 20-inch machined aluminium wheels, an upgraded exhaust system, leather seating, and ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: Non-ST trims use Ford’s EcoBoost two-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. The ST uses a 2.7-litre EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, also paired with an eight-speed automatic and AWD.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centreing, and it is available on trims above the SE.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 4.2-inch non-touchscreen display with USB, WiFi hotspot, streaming music, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. An 8-inch Sync 3 system is available on the SEL and standard on the Titanium and ST, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version uses 10.9 L/100 km in the city, 8.0 on the highway, and 9.6 combined. With AWD, those figures rise to 11.4 city, 8.3 highway, and 10.0 combined. The ST uses 12.6 L/100 km city, 9.2 highway, and 11.0 combined.

Which 2019 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the least expensive way into the Edge, but its 4.2-inch non-touchscreen infotainment setup feels basic, and the cabin is described as dated. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the nicer tech and comfort upgrades.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It adds heated front seats, roof rails, rear parking sensors, and access to the 8-inch Sync 3 system, while still staying well below the Titanium and ST in price. CarGurus recommends it as the most well-rounded choice for more buyers.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale Edge, with leather upholstery, remote start, a wireless charging pad, and the premium Bang & Olufsen audio system. It suits you if comfort and convenience matter more than value.
• ST: This is the performance-focused choice, with the twin-turbo V6, AWD, sportier styling, and stronger acceleration. It suits you if you want the quickest and most engaging Edge, but it is the priciest route.

The SEL is the trim to focus on if you want the best balance of equipment, price, and everyday usefulness. Safety-wise, Co-Pilot360 is standard, while Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on trims above the SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 433 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,442 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $17,668 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,245 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you buy now, you may be entering at a softer point in the cycle, which can help limit near-term depreciation pressure. The Edge’s broad owner satisfaction should help support demand, but its dated cabin and age may keep resale gains in check.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge safe?

The 2019 Ford Edge earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Above the SE, you can add Co-Pilot360 Assist+, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centreing. The IIHS rating notes lacklustre headlight performance, which is the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a practical two-row layout with available ST performance and standard Co-Pilot360 safety tech.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,179 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,668 CAD average.
• It adds more standard tech and safety equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and owner satisfaction is strong. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year with a slightly more up-to-date equipment set, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
